Avoid at all costsWe installed this unit in June 2017 and within a year the motherboard had to be replaced. This oven is poorly designed. When cooking foods with a high moisture content (poultry, braised meats, pizza, pretty much anything) the steam shorts out the control panel when the oven door is opened. We can't even use the convection feature or the whole thing shuts off. Apparently these are known issues, well documented all over the internet but Kitchenaid has done nothing to recall or rectify. And since we purchased an extended service plan kitchenaid has wiped its hands of the problem, taking no responsibility. We are now waiting for our second service call to replace the motherboard again for the exact same problem. I will never buy another kitchenaid save I'm telling everyone my story.

Customer needs a solution from
Expensive oven with a fatal flawThe glass control panel is excellent except when convection roasting in the upper oven steam escapes and condenses inside the glass panel as well on the surface of the glass and sends the panel into an error that shuts down the oven until the moisture clears from the panel. this seems to be a known issue from Google searches and Kitchenaid has been unwilling to provide a solution. Additionally, there is a gap between the glass on the oven doors and the door frame which allows dust to get in between the two panels of glass and cannot be cleaned. So no matter how clean the glass that faces the inside of the oven is, it will always appear dirty. Overall VERY DISAPPOINTING for such a modern appliance.

Good oven-poor customer info!I was so excited about buying my Kitchen Aid oven-and I do like it very much....however-after using aluminum foil in the bottom of my previous ovens (in the past 50 years) to catch drips--it NEVER occurred to me that there was an oven that would be RUINED by using a piece of foil!!!! It melted and stuck to the bottom of the oven and will not come off!! It does mention that in the lengthy manual....but there should be a LARGE WARNING label on the new oven door!!! When I looked online-I realized that there were MANY others that had had the same terrible experience! The price of one paper warning would help save ruining an expensive new oven!!! (this photo is after trying to clean- probably 20 times)

So disappointed!! Looks awful!!I bought this oven 3 months ago and the glass on the top oven looks awful! It is all foggy between the 2 pieces of glass and KitchenAid said there is nothing they can do about it, unless I want to pay a technician $100 to come out and clean it for me, even though it has a one year manufacturer's warranty. They even admitted that it is a ventilation issue. A $3000 oven shouldn't loook this bad after 3 short months!!

frustrated w service from
after 4 years of repeated failures w repairsWe purchased all Kitchenaid appliances for our house dream kitchen 4 years ago. All work great except the expensive double ovens. Have had to have the control panels replaced twice and still not working-so they suggest another panel and will not just replace it for free. Kitchenaid has offered to replace w another brand at a "discounted" price. We have wasted $1000s of dollars in food product that either was burned or raw as a result of the horrible temperature fluctuations, over heating, under heating, never reaching and holding an accurate temperature.

We’ve had some bumps in the roadWe bought our first oven at Thanksgiving time. It stopped working about 2 weeks after we had it installed. The parts that were needed were on back order and kitchenaid couldn’t tell us when we could expect to have a working oven. The company that we purchased it from, thankfully, gave us a new one. Then, after we had that one installed, the temperate was not right by Iike 60 degrees. As it turns out, the fan was broken. Kitchenaid had someone out to fix it pretty quickly. It’s been ok since but that’s only been a about a month. Very pretty ovens and I hope they continue to work.

Constant ProblemsThis oven was newly installed in the home we purchased 3 years ago and worked great the first two years. This past year is a different story! We've replaced the control panel twice after it goes haywire when venting steam hits it. The latest issue is a total failure of the oven. The panel started beeping and then eventually died. Resetting power failed to bring the panel back to life. Hopefully the technicians give me good news next week, but I'm not expecting it.

Worst oven ever!!Oven stopped working 4 months after purchase. A code comes on and the oven turns off. It happens on every holiday. I no longer can entertain at my home because every meal is ruined. Even the service person says it’s junk and they have received the same complaint from other customers. They have replaced the keyboard About 6 times already. No improvement. Kitchen aid knows it’s a lemon and doesn’t stand behind their product. They should be ashamed to sell such a low quality product. Next time I’ll listen to my friends and buy thermadore.

the unhappy cook from
Not happy ...expect a fully working set of ovensBought this for a custom built dream home. All appliances are Kitchenaid as the name usually stands for quality. This is the second time in 8 months that the lower oven will not function. Have had a repairman out once already. Still under warranty. Calling Monday as of course these items don't work when it's after hours and there is company waiting to be fed!

Very Unhappy with KA from
DO NOT BUY - FLAWED ENGINEERING & CUSTOMER SERVICEIn bought this oven 2.5 years ago in 7/17 and have had continuous issues. The oven stopped working while entertaining and cooking the Thanksgiving turkey and again on New Year's eve. Then waiting days until the oven to be repaired with no functioning ovens.
Summary from our extended warranty coverage carrier:
6/22/18 - Oven control panel stopped working. Removed and replaced control panel and gasket.
11/30/18 - Oven control panel stopped working. Tightened venting unit. Venting unit has gaps and is allowing steam to escape, condensation to accumulate in control panel, creating error that stops oven from functioning.
1/8/19 - Oven stopped working. Thermal fuse which sits above venting unit is blown. Fuse replaced
1/21/19 - Oven stopped working. Thermal fuse replaced (again).
The first two issues are due to poor venting design, which creates condensation in the control panel & system error that stops the oven from functioning.
The second two issues occurred while using the oven on high heat. The thermal fuse is located directly above the vent and the high heat causes the fuse to blow.
Contacted Kitchen Aid customer service to complain about this poorly manufactured and designed ovens that cost over 3K. KA said the ovens have a manufacture warranty for one year and they are no longer responsible for their poorly manufactured product. So I have to continue paying for extended warranties, not cook at high heat or use the self cleaning function, in order to have a functioning oven. I will never buy another KA appliance again and will ensure the retailer (and everyone else I talk to) knows what an unsuitable product, brand and service they are selling.
