Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed from Sounds like a lawn mower We got this refrigerator in March, 2017. For the first week it didn't cool at all. Turns out it had no refrigerant in it. To their credit, kitchen aid promptly sent a check for $250 to replace all our thawed and ruined food. For our part, we cleaned up the food mess and lived out of coolers for a week. Now it runs, even makes ice, and looks gorgeous. But it sounds like a lawn mower. The second repairman said that can be repaired, but the life of the compressor may affected by the absence of Freon earlier. It's clearly a lemon, but kitchen aid isn't in any hurry to agree. We are waiting. See video. It speaks for itself. LOUDLY!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Holleyw from Stop working I bought this refrigerator 18 months ago as a special gift for myself, It worked fine until a week ago and it just stopped working. We called costumer service and they sent a repairman out today. They ask a lot of questions when we called so I assumed they would bring the part that were needed to fix it. My husband had to take a day off work to be here. However they didn’t have the parts and now he has to take another day off tomorrow so they can come back to fix it. Not only have we lost all the food in the refrigerator and freezer but 2 day pay and we still don’t have a refrigerator that works. Oh did I mention it is Christmas week.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MDLGTO from Beautiful, unreliable refrigerator The fan for the icemaker/freezer gave out after five months of use. I could forgive Whirlpool-Kitchenaid this if they were able to get the part out and fix it in a timely manner. Nope. I've waited three weeks and still have no freezer, let that sink in to fellow avid cooks. (I am in Mexico, that said, this is unacceptable when you want to create a world class luxury brand + I live 15 miles from a Whirlpool factory (even though Fridge says made in USA)). Other than the fatal flaw, the appliance is terrific--functionality great, design & aesthetics stunning (price performance vs. other high end brands beyond compare). Trouble is, the thing just doesn't work...

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tb from Extremely disappointed Upon receiving this fridge in March I noticed that there was insulation or glue that oozed out during manufacturing on the doors of the fridge. Also, water was leaking from the ice maker. I reported this well within the first 30 days. Three technicians, over twenty emails and so many phone calls that I have lost count. No one has contacted me. The fridge still leaks. Ice is melted into one solid piece. Condensation and ice form on the inside ceiling. I have to run it on full blast. For the amount of money I spent on this, i expected a better product and customer service from KA. I will never buy another product from them again. So disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AKW from Main Circuit Board Fails-Less Than 2 Years Old! Imagine the main circuit board fails, and the refrigerator is not even 2 years old? Convenient that the part is only warranted for 1 year. This is a $400.00 repair. Suddenly, last week, all the lights inside the refrigerator went dark. The ice maker stopped making ice, and the display froze. You can't get water either. I've already had to replace one door which wasn't made properly, so it didn't close correctly. Quality control is lacking. Just got rid of a 1 1/2 year old Kitchenaid Microwave last week, where the door sensor, which was replaced twice by Kitchenaid, failed once again. Also conveniently out of warranty. No excuse for this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by hvasvill from Beautiful but not Good Quality I fell in love with the look of this fridge, we bought it along with the range and dishwasher...I love the look and although the look is important function is more important. This fridge is a lemon. Shortly after purchase we started having issues with the freezer accumulating ice and the ice maker not making ice as it should. Now a new issue...water leaking all over the floor. We cannot seem to figure out where the water is coming from and i am not talking about a few drops, its like a bucket full of water is dumped out. I cannot afford new appliances nor want to pay $200-$300 for repairs. :(

We were told by our builder to pick out our appliance in October because appliance dimensions were needed to build the cabinets. Therefore appliances have only been used since June 2017. We had to argue with Kitchenaid to get the repairs covered under warranty. We have already had 4 repair call on this refrigerator and about to call for our 5th! Forced to buy am extended warranty because the Freezer continues to freeze up and ice builds up inside. To the point that you can’t open the door. I have had to throw out numerous groceries as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ajgrueter from Looks nice, but lots of problems Owned this fridge for about a year now and it has been caused us many problems. Started with the ice/water dispenser leaking from day 1. The Rail-Mulln sticks and therefore doesn't allow us to close that door on the fridge without manually pushing it into place. We have a rust colored discharge that dispenses into the fridge whenever we use the ice maker (see pic). We had a warranty tech out to replace the Mulln which was better for about 2 days and now sticks again. He also fixed the gasket for the water dispenser but we still get the rust discharge into the fridge. Setting up another service call now. Frustrating after spending $3k+. Also, doesnt make ice nearly fast enough. Looks great though. :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kirsty from Extremely frustrated and disappointed I bought this refrigerator and am extremely disappointed. Everything was working great up until a few weeks ago. I am having the same issues that I see several others have complained about. The lights and refrigeration turn off. The display is lighted, however the water and ice will not work. It will reset if you unplug the unit, but the problem occurs again after 3 or 4 days. It’s a beautiful refrigerator. I even chose to buy the oven and dishwasher to match even though my previous ones were in good condition! I can’t explain how disappointing it is to expect high quality and know that so many others out there are experiencing the same issue.

Display panel never worked for water ice, called repair, they came out replace mother board still didn’t work, came back out 7 times still didn’t work now we are into January 2018. I call kitchen Aid and they were all over it they they order me new refrigerator and delivered works GREAT I built my new kitchen around this refrigerator and I LOVE it. My kitchen appliances are all kitchen aid. I have my mixer that my husband bought me 35 yrs ago sitting along with the rest of my kitchen aid. Thank you Kitchen aid for a great product that you stand behind.
