I have been using hand held mixers and have been wanting to get a stand mixer for quite some time. I enjoyed baking for my large family and using the mixer lets my hands free to add the ingredients instead of holding the mixer. I'm glad my husband was able to purchase this for mother's day gift. Every good baker should have one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Artisan mixer because I decided to start making home made bread. Mixing and kneading the dough seemed to be a lot of work, but this mixer took care of that problem. My bread seems to turn out better and I even use less flour in the process. I highly recommend this appliance for anyone choosing to make home made bread!

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1938 Grandma from My story [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Kitchen Aid Stand mixer since I was 6 years old to bake chocolate chip cookies as my first attempt at baking, followed by being the oldest of 13 children who became my mom right hand in the farm kitchen this mix master has withstood the test of time. Married at the age of 21, Kitchen Aid was a wedding gift from my In-Laws and has been instrumental in food preparation for my husband and 10 children. Now, at the age of 86 I could not afford to purchase a new Kitchen=Aid and was extremely pleased to find in my web-searching the availability of a refurbished model. Living independently, in a facility, I now bake on Tuesdays for group coffee gatherings honoring my German mom and her "old Country" recipes.
