Rated 5 out of 5 by KAM4 from Owned for over 20 years, still works perfectly! I have owned this style of food grinder for over 20 years and it has been an amazing tool in my kitchen! Mine also has sausage stuffing attachments. It has been used to make breakfast sausage from pork and venison, to make ground venison, and I purchase beef tenderloins every summer (A large tenderloin package is a very good buy!) to cut my own filets and I grind the leftover tenderloin pieces to make awesome burgers from! I saw the metal grinder, but since mine is still in perfect working order I decided that I'm sticking with "old faithful" for now. I do have the metal grinder on my favorites list in case some day I may need to replace this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FDR/FDR from This Food Grinder is a Work Horse I bought my Refurbished Kitchen Aid Food Grinder Attachment for my Artisan Mixer about 20 or so years ago. After using it regularly through the years all the parts are in impecable condition. I can grind 8lbs. of beef in about 12 minutes and to clean the unit is ever so easy. I simply soak all parts in hot sudzy water, use a dish & bottle brush, quickly rinse in hot water then air dry. I towel dry the blades and they still cut as if they just came out of the box. I've turned out the best ever hamburger meat with this unit. As far as other recipes it is so quick and easy, it's become my kitchen's best friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by John Fred from Replacement [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a replacement for my first unit that exploded while processing elderberries. I was using the tomato strainer to separate the berries from the stems and it stalled the mixer. The grinder housing blew apart narrowly missing my head. I bought the metal grinder, thinking this is a heavy duty version. It is, but the tomato processor doesn't fit that model. I had to repurchase the plastic version just to use the tomato processor.
