Rated 5 out of 5 by rleffew from Workhorse that is versitile. This was a gift to replace a 30+-year-old version of the same KitchenAid stand mixer. Overall, the mixer is great -- all of my old add-on attachments still fit which is a big bonus having accumulated a good many attachments over the years. Not only do I use it for breads, cookies, etc., I also use it to make pasta, grind meats, peel & slice vegetables, etc.. Initially, my mixer did have an issue with its motor -- the unit essentially burned out while kneading bread. This happened within the first few uses. Customer Service was great and shipped me a replacement unit quickly. No indications that the motor problem will repeat. Having put my previous mixer through 30+ years of hard service, I believe this was an anomaly and have faith the replacement mixer will continue to perform well.

I bought this slightly smaller model with some trepidation (it fit my budget better) but so far I'm very happy with it. This mixer has seen heavy use for the last month and has done a fine job with bread dough, cookie dough, cake batter, and frosting. I bake a lot of bread so the ability to handle bread dough is important to me; so far this machine is doing fine. The color is nice, too. No complaints!
