I have 2 KA mixers and this one is my third I especially like this one because of the larger bowl which keeps the addition of flour during mixing from spewing out on me! It’s very powerful and gets the job done quicker. It does a great job on larger recipes of sweet dough which, when using my smaller machine climbs up the hook. I love the attachments too which are very heavy duty.

This one can handle a quadruple batch of sugar cookie dough with ease. My prep time is drastically reduced! I wish I would have purchased it sooner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by FancyFree from DC (direct current) not AC (alternating current) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a 4.5 quart KitchenAid mixer and my double-loaf sourdough bread recipe just crawled all the way up the paddle or bread hook and kept trying to jump right over the edge of the bowl. I needed a bigger mixer, and the 8-quart-sized bowl definitely appealed. I liked the idea of a commercial machine. I considered a couple of other brands, but their learning curve put me off. Already knowing how to use the KitchenAid was a big factor in my decision to stay with KitchenAid—and when my husband learned that the commercial version is DC (direct current) and not the more common AC (alternating current), he got on board too. I have used the mixer a few times already to make double-loaf bread dough, and the mixer does a great job on this recipe. I also used it on an 8-scone recipe, a small recipe compared to the bread, and I thought the mixer didn’t handle the smaller recipe as well as the larger bread recipe. Still I’m very happy with my new mixer. It has pride of place right on the counter.
