Rated 5 out of 5 by Ironsidefan from Consistent, Much Quieter, And Smoother DC Motor [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I greatly appreciate the very much improved, solid and smoothly quieter consistent torque at each speed setting due to this Mini’s superior DC motor and planetary gear design shared only by the soon to be discontinued 7 quart Professional and 8 quart Commercial KitchenAid models. The only deficiency I can cite is that beginning in 2016 Whirlpool removed a long present essential external planetary drive shaft spring and washer – an integral Hobart element designed to solidify the beater, dough hook, and wire whip attachments as one to that drive shaft they attach to when installed on it. A repair specialist in vintage KitchenAid mixers provides those essential parts aftermarket which as you can observe in the two photos I managed to purchase one of each from them, and have successfully, and quite easily been able to now reintroduce as it were on my Mini. I noticed a strong solidity of each attachment to the drive shaft when each is installed on it unlike before when each one would move about loosely up and down. The specialist explained how the more malleable aluminum of the attachments when fitted onto the solid steel of the mixer’s planetary drive shaft after repeated use under load begin to wallow out inside of the shaft attachment socket of each one due to the loose up and down and side to side forces resultant from the mixer’s intended design use, and due to the missing Hobart integral spring and washer on the drive attachment shaft of all of the KitchenAid mixers produced from 2016 to the present, ultimately requiring replacement of the attachments and even the stainless steel mixing bowl due to in some cases to eventual resultant inflicted dings and dents. Whirlpool would do very well by their customers in putting those two simple, but cost saving Hobart design elements back onto all the KitchenAid mixers.

However, after having it for so long now I have decided to try a smaller one. I got the kitchenaid artisan mini 3.5 qt tilt head mixer and I am so happy. It is lighter weight so it is easier for me to move it around on the counter. I got the aqua blue color to add fun to my kitchen color scheme and to bring more excitement to using it for so many things...I especially enjoy the dough hook, it makes mixing up bread so easy and fun.

This thing is so awesome. It’s so easy to use and it’s the perfect size for all the mixing needs of two people. I love this mixer!

I decided I just had to bite the bullet and spend the money. It is well worth it. I have a handicap that my arms do not work properly and this mini mixer (it is smaller but by no means mini) is ideal. The tilt head locks which makes it easy for me to move and the bowl is easy to remove. It works wonderfully and I still can make a double batch of my cookie recipe in it. I did purchase the scraper beater which is great. I love it and am so glad I have it.
