Broken BlenderI've had this blender for over three years now and it had been working great until recently. I've primarily used it to make smoothies or simple soups. The other day, after I was done blending, I noticed small and large pieces of black plastic all throughout my smoothie and it had started to leak through the bottom of the blender jar. It appeared as though the blender had chewed up a chunk of the plastic piece in the bottom of the blender jar. Thank goodness I noticed before consuming! Similar to other reviewers, this blender works great initially but doesn't seem to hold up after a few years, which is disappointing for the price point.

Broke in less than 2 months and less than 10 uses[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So disappointed! The blades are no longer attached to the drive shaft securely. I wanted a smoothie of chocolate milk, one banana, and peanut butter with ice. I ended up with banana chunks and a blob of peanut butter floating in chocolate milk. Have just called KitchenAid for a replacement and the nice representative Jamie said it will take 3-4 weeks for my replacement to arrive. This is unfortunate because health reasons require me to consume soft foods such as smoothies. Because of my positive experiences with KitchenAid dishwashers and mixers, I will give this another try. Hope the replacement comes asap and works!

Love it![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the blender. I didn’t find using the controls too difficult after you understand how the machine works. Love the way it cleans and knows exactly how long to run in that mode. My only issue, which is not a deal breaker, is that when we ordered the paperwork said there was a smaller glass blender jar available to purchase. Not a drink blending jar an actual blender hat. When I called to order I was told it hadn’t been released yet. I will continue to try to order. Again, just would like to have a glass jar. Love the blender. Heavy duty and does what we need. Pricey but with it. You won’t be disappointed.

Worth the wait[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kitchenaide sent me a K400 after my last blender overheated. When I tried to use it the machine leaked and smoked. Frustrated, I sent the item back and thought against buying another kitchen product. I relented and am SOOOOOO happy I did!
The K400 has been used every day since it was received. The last blender we had was used AT BEST, once every other week. We just find things to blend now. Our smoothies are on point. We’ll be blending up baby food as well once our little one arrives.
Even with all the back and fourth of mailing the blender a couple of times, this product was worth the wait.

It's Souped-up[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! I mean WOW!!
I've always had cheap multi-button blenders in the past, and never thought much of it. It wasn't until I developed a motor neuron disease and could no longer chew effectively that I realized that the old blender wasn't going to cut it.
The K400 chews through anything frozen in the blink of an eye. I've been making smoothies out of foods that I had no idea could be put in a blender.
The only thing that I should have done is to have bought it with a tamper included. 98% of the time a tamper isn't necessary, but the last 2% really needs one.

Horrible... turn to brown water and no support..[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Horrible!! I noticed when I used the clean mode, water color turned brown color... I repeated several times, still clear water turned to brown. Looks like in the blender‘a middle of metal was rotted. I called kitchen aid customer service phone, chat etc... waiting more than one hour, no one answer. No customer service!!! I found email address, but sent to India !! I bought a different product.... so disappointed. I cannot believe that I was drinking smoothie with brown water!!

Waste of money!I bought this KitchenAid blender about 15 months ago and had high hopes since it’s pricey but what the heck I thought it was going to last many years and I deserved a good product. I only used it for simple things like soups and smoothies. Now it’s leaking. The problem is just a gasket, but KitchenAid makes it impossible to replace such a simple part. Instead, your only option is to buy an entirely new jar or throw the whole thing away, even though the motor is practically new. Very disappointing design. For the price, I expected durability. Sadly, I cannot recommend this blender.

Worst blender ever…I never write reviews on anything but would warn anyone about buying this blender. I received blender as Christmas gift, worked for a couple weeks then the rubber bottom was stripped by the metal propeller. I also had black goo leaking out as well. This is so poorly designed, I can’t believe the blender does not some how lock into place, especially with a blender this heavy duty… customer service was great. They sent a new one however, the same thing happened again with the new blender… at this we are throwing in our cards and just buying a different brand of blender. Very disappointed in kitchen aide

Leaking oil after only 2 months!Always thought KitchenAid was high quality, so I didn't hesitate to purchase this blender for daily smoothies. It was expensive, but I figured it would be worth it. We've had it two months and there's oil leaking underneath the bottom of the jar. Who knows how long we've been drinking this in the smoothies! Very, very disappointing, KitchenAid.

This blender is amazing!I had a 15-year old version of the KitchenAid blender that was your normal blender (but still better than any other I had before it) that recently died on me so I replaced it with this one in pistachio. Let me tell you what -- this blender is so amazing. I made my first smoothie in it this morning and it was the smoothest one I've ever made. I was able to throw ALL of the ingredients into it and it blended everything thoroughly! My only issue is I can't see the markings on the dial very well. I know the silver matches the design, but black would have been better. I have to use my flashlight to see them. I also love the cleanup option on the dial. Works like a charm.
