There is nothing like homemade food tailored to your taste! Homemade foods means you know every ingredient, so you no more guessing how to pronounce the the preservatives found in the store bought products! The machine is great and very versatile! Looking toward getting the other attachments and expanding my cooking repertoire! I recommend to any home cook, amateur or professional!

I have seen all the bread recipes that refer to the use of a stand mixer. I have wanted one for a long time. I have not used it a ton, but I salvaged a bread dough that would have been a complete loss. THe bread was great. I am pleased with my machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jkp543 from upgrade was worth it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Still using my first and only KitchenAid tilt head stand mixer I received in 1992, I decided it was time for a serious upgrade as I was finding the bowl a bit small. I love my new bowl lift stand mixer although I still keep trying to tilt the head out of habit ;-/. If I had any criticism, it would be that I have a really hard time mounting the bowl on the pins and aligning it with the back notch, it takes a lot of muscle and that just doesn't seem right. I have to wonder if I'm doing something wrong and will ultimately get around to looking for answers on the web since the instruction book wasn't very helpful. Otherwise, fabulous addition to my kitchen.

AND not only is this my best friend for mixing banana bread dough and other stuff for cakes - I finally don’t have to hand-knead bread dough! Which is like the best thing! I love it do much that since then i have bee buying the assesories. I now have all of them and my favorite is using the meat grinder. Wow, you should try the hamburgers! Nothing like home made. I love the red color of the mixer. Now i have a cover to keep it on the counter all the time, it is heavy to be moving it around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put off buying a KA stand mixer because I wasn't sure which one to get. there seems to be a lot of overlap or at least a confusing product line with motors, gears, sizing... I finally chose one and have had it for about a month now using it a few times a week for various types of dough. I have no regrets. Its improved my bread and pizza quality a great deal. I got an official KA pasta maker attachment kit that i have yet to use but will soon. I like it a lot.

I will say this... as an amateur user of this device I am still torn between this model and the slightly smaller model with the tilt back head. It seems that would be more convenient but that is a minor nitpick and I couldn't be happier with this mixer. I'm eyeballing those pasta attachments next...

I've been making bread like crazy and it's so easy! My friends and neighbors love it!! I have always been a bread maker, but am not able to knead the dough like I used to because of arthritis in my hands. This mixer makes it effortless. I wish I'd bought this years ago.

This mixer handles large batches of cookies without hand mixing. Anything over 3 cups of flour in the old one had to be hand mixed at the end. The dough hook attachment makes it easy knead dough with minimum hand kneading. The old mixer dough hooks did not work well. After a couple tries I didn't ever use them again. This mixer has enough power to get the job done and is actually not any louder than the old one. Having a bowl lift model takes a little getting used to, but the extra power makes it worth it.

I’ve always had KitchenAid stand mixers- my last one survived over 18 years before I upgraded. This thing is a beast, but after purchasing, I forgot the attachments aren’t dishwasher safe. Kept getting gray hands while washing them. My fault- my memory is not great! Trying to find a coated scraper paddle to replace my most used attachments now. It does have a little trouble with bread dough- I make three loaves a week and lately we’ve been getting a burning smell coming from the unit as it pulses the dough with the hook. Not sure if it’s a bad unit or of the dough is overloading the motor. I’m back to hand kneading until I find out
