Rated 5 out of 5 by coldpepsi from Lid does not stay on The lid came with my mixer, I have tried to use it many times but it always falls off, so I just take it off I haven't used it for a long time. I love my mixer it's the best thing I have bought. When I make my monster cookies the dough is right to the top of the bowl and the mixer has no problem in mixing it up. I just love this mixer. I would definitely recommend the mixer, Now on the other hand I would not recommend the bowl shield.

She's not a cook. She whips this thing on woth no shield and poof.... messy kitchen! I showed her how to use the shield and now she loves it. Messes happen without the shield when you run full speed amd you have ko idea what you are doing! I love it!

I had no interest in using the stand mixer at first (my mom never had one) but my MIL insisted I needed one. First time I used it I felt like the flour all went flying. Then tried using it with the shield. I now use my mixer all the time, and never without the shield! It seriously has changed my opinion of stand mixers, and makes using it a dream! I see a lot of bad reviews talking about it not fitting correctly, and you do have to take a moment to ensure it's in the correct spot (all three grips on the outside of the mixing bowl), but once it's on I've never had an issue. I'm buying another one for my MIL, she was impressed when she saw how handy it is on mine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bex2 from HAD to have the pouring shield! Last year I bought my first KitchenAid syand mixer in 54 years of marriage. I used it at our home up north and fell in love. WHo knew mising could be to easy!!?? When we returned to the other house, I couldn't live without the mixer so I bought a good used one. It came with the pouring shield. Again - I didn't know what I'd been missing, so as soon as I finish this review I plan to order another one! Then I plan to clean up the flour that sprayed around the kitchen when my husband baked cookies today!

Rated 5 out of 5 by niki1156 from Perfect for stopping a mess! I mainly use this when I shred cooked chicken breasts in my mixer with the paddle attachment. It helps to keep the chicken from flying all over everything. I definitely miss it if I forget to use it.
