Has issues and far from ReliableAs others have posted with the KFIS29PBMS model, very noisy, ice buildup on the outside of the ice maker duct work - even with insulation retrofit kit and now after two years the cooling has failed.
Though it is against my nature, did get an extended warranty due to a experiences with a different troublesome brand. We?ll see how this venture works out with this cooling failure.
Also purchased a Kitchenaid range at the same time and reliability was also terrible. The range was warranty replaced due to repeated failures, so far the replacement has not had issues.
It pathetic that after two years one would even have to think of buying a replacement.

Don't botherThis is the worst fridge I have ever used. I am so completely disgusted by this product. 2 years after having it completly stopped working. I had to argue with Kitchenaid to fix it. They sent a repairman out. He told me that he "basically replaced everything but the shell and they would have been better off giving us a new fidge." "They (Kichenaid) knew they built a bad product."
Two years later the ice machine has started leaking any now the freezer door won't shut because of the constant ice build up.....
Thanks Kitchenaid. I had my last fridge for 10+ years this one has been 4... Guess what brand I will never ever ever recommend.

Doing your homework doesn't always get the best!So I had to get a fridge quickly, ours died. Looked at the reviews of the ones at our local big appliance store. So What.. This one has new design problems. Water drips from the ice maker, and it makes ice slow, even in max ice mode.. Have had it about a year now and today all the features stopped working. No ice no water no nothing. Had to pull it put and unplug it for a few minutes, then it started up again.. guess the ole computer needed resetting. wow. I have a very bad feeling that this very expensive fridge will not last half as long as our old one did. It makes me sick to think how the cost will never outway the problems we will have with this one..

Visually great looking, but poor performance. If you like ice or you are looking for a quality product, do not purchase this model. Our refrigerator was installed on July 11th. We have had it serviced 3 times - once a week since installation. Each of the 3 technicians has given us a different reason for the problem. The main issue is the ice maker. Ours makes about 10 to 12 cubes a day, if any. We have 4 replacement parts to be installed to see if this is a fix for the problem. Two of the three technicians told us there was an issue with the ice makers in this particular model. There is also an issue with the dispenser ? ice ends up on the floor as well as in the glass.

Do Not BuyBE CAREFUL! READ FIRST BEFORE BUYING!
Do not buy this product unless you are willing to gamble over $2000. First one died within months. Second one less than one month. Third one in a little over one year. All of them dripped water from ice maker and I was told I was crazy because nothing was wrong with fridge. Flash forward to the third one and finally a service update was issued to fix this problem, but it failed anyway. Failures were caused by various items, fans, controller board, and eventually ran out of coolant. We were lucky to have a small retailer with a good relationship with the Whirlpool/Kitchenaid sales rep to have it replaced even out of warranty.

bad refrigerator bad servicebought almost two years ago and just short of one year old the problems started. waiting on the 6th repair now, all for the same problem. water and ice coming from the ice maker. service has replaced rear tower twice, circuit boards, heater twice i was told, then last tech said once. now it is leaking from the ice storage container and from the ice maker. motor is way to loud for a "high end" appliance. food in freezer seems to freeze and thaw at will and food on top shelf of refrigerator freeze then turn bad. seems as if problems are being put off till extended warranty expires so they can claim not our problem.

Real LemonPurchased refrigerator 4 1/2 years ago. Many things have gone wrong with refrigerator. A total of 10 service visits to fix a myriad of items so far. Unit makes lots of unusual noises. Guess what, currently waiting for it to be fixed again. Service plan is taking over 2 weeks for technician to come out. Still waiting and waiting. Last time refrigerator broke, it took over about a month for part to arrive. Also Service Plan's lemon clause only covers 4 events in one year. Count resets each year Contract is renewed. Very unhappy with the products quality. Save yourself the grief and do not buy this lemon!

DisappointedWe've had three service calls within the first year to resolve excessive frost buildup. Unit bought in April 2014. The frost was accumulating to the point of preventing the freezer door from opening. Tech replaced multiple seals and applied sealant in a few locations. It seemed to help until this past weekend (Feb 2016) when the unit stopped working. A 12 hour long defrost with the doors open produced an amazing amount of water, which overflowed the evaporation tray. After 24 hours of running the unit is still warm, at 45 degrees in the refrigerator. Deeply disappointed in the unit. We have the extended warranty, but hesitant to replace with the same make and model.

Pretty Good - One LimitationWe purchased this refrigerator as part of an entire KitchenAid appliance upgrade for our newly remodeled kitchen. We replaced a 22 year old, 25 cu ft KitchenAid side by side that had worked flawlessly.
One thing I wished I knew before purchasing this model is that the volume of ice produced daily is no where near what I had expected. The old side by side produced upwards of 8lbs. per day while this unit is about 3lbs per day. For 3 adults who enjoy drinking water, it is really not enough.
A second, minor irritant is the noises this unit makes. While the Q & A section of the website addressed the noises, they take some time to get used to.

Worst purchase I have ever made.I have had it 9 months and have had already had 3 major service problem. Not only have the repairs not worked, it also been a huge run around every time with long holds, customer service not doing what they said they would and generally speaking it's been the worst purchase I have ever made. The product doesn't work properly, and the customer service has been terrible. I couldn't be less happy. It's loud, it didn't keep food cold for two weeks while I waited on repairs and I wanted to unplug it for 2 weeks the next time we waited for repairs because it was so loud. Customer service / warrenty didn't care.
