The timer makes it so easy to prepare meals without spending all your time in the kitchen. I have owned other slow cookers and none compare to the quality of this one. The two way lid is perfect for making additions part way through cooking and serving. All the heat does not escape. The rubbers around the lid keeps the heat in so foods cook more quickly. It is also easy clean up. Can't say enough about my new Kitchen Aid Slow Cooker. I also have a Kitchen Aid Mixer and it is the best. Kitchen Aid makes superior products that are well worth purchasing.

I like the range of temperatures, and the design of the lid, which also allows for a quick stir later in the cycle. Easy to clean too - and attractive design overall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Slow cook from Best slow cooker I've ever used... I have owned a number of slow cookers in the past - but this one is undoubtedly the best. What sets it apart is the flexible and responsive temperature controls. Other slow cookers that only have a Low and High temperature setting run generally too hot - meaning the Low setting is often still too hot. The KA Architect has a Warm, Low, Medium and High setting - providing a much broader range of temperatures you can use to cook different ingredients. The Low setting is perfectly low and very stable (I've used a candy thermometer to measure temp throughout cook cycle and it stays low consistently throughout long cook cycle). This feature is very important when you are using the machine to make herb infused butters which need a long and low/consistent cook time. The only issues I have with this machine (and have had with all others) is the clay pot insert will crack after using the machine for a couple of years. Once it is cracked you will need a replacement part. The replacement bowl is very reasonable in price (e.g. $36) - so this is not really an issue / but I've had a really hard time trying to get this part when it is back-ordered. It is amazing to me that Whirlpool can have a part backordered for weeks and weeks and still have no idea or estimate of when it will be back is stock (I can understand not having an ETA for a few days - but can't understand having no idea of whether it will take days, weeks, or months for the entire time of the backorder). I recently had to buy a second full machine because of a backorder that has still not been filled. I would have given 5 stars if parts were more readily available or even if there was better info. on ETA of unavailable parts. Still, despite the frustration with replacement parts - this is by far the best slow cooker I've tried and I will keep buying and recommending for sure.
