How thin should the slicing blade adjust to?I am very happy with the food processor overall but when I did potatoes for home fries I was very unhappy with the thickness of the slices. The thinnest cut is 1/4 inch which also would be too thick for cucumbers, onions for some recipes and carrots. I tried sliding the knob in case it was stuck on that thickness but 1/4" was it. I'm going to try to check some video to see what they show but had I known it would have been a deal breaker for me since I slice a lot of things finely and wanted to get away from having to use the mandoline. I glad I didn't give it away. Otherwise, it's a great unit and does everything else well.

The thinnest setting is still way too thick.I was excited to get my Kitchen Aid food processor with Exact Slice System, but was very quickly disappointed when I realized the thinnest setting is still too thick. I bought this particular food processor just for this feature. I wanted to cut potatoes and onions thin and keep them consistent. I could of bought a cheaper Kitchen Aid because I don't think I will be using this blade. I still buy Kitchen Aid products though because I think they are the best.

Not good!I bought a reconditioned food processor. The blade and the shredder blade work well, but the slicing blade does not fit! The lid of the food processor does not sit down properly when this blade is in place, so the machine doesn't work!! Once the blade is set in, it won't come out without a fight! I am not pleased and will slice food manually rather than use this blade! I love the food processor, but not this blade!

I have the same problem! And is the post part of the slicer or separate and should come off for use with other accessories?
