Rated 1 out of 5 by Home Cook 857 from No oil trap and oil running down my wall I bought this hood to replace a different brand that no longer had parts available for repair. Shortly after it was installed we noticed oil dripping down the wall after the problem continued we called for service to see if the oil management system was not installed correctly. The tech said everything was installed correctly and there was no known issues and we need to wash the filters more. I washed the filters and cleaned up all the oil and 4 days later oil was running down the wall again. We have not changed cooking styles since we have been cooking blue apron meals for 2 years and the prior vent hood we replaced had no oil issues and I never had to clean the oil filters...

Rated 1 out of 5 by doug510 from DO NOT BUY! This hood is *not* KitchenAid quality After owning many KitchenAid appliances over the years, I bought this hood (KVWB406DSS) in October 2018. A little over a year after it was installed, the LED lights stopped working. Two months later, the lights failed again. Again, the circuit board is the problem. Kitchen Aid customer service offered to pay for the part, but after spending $1000 on the hood and $300 for a fix that didn’t work the first time, we have decided to replace the hood completely. I have always admired KitchenAid, but this hood is really not representative of the typical high quality that you’d expect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Zaf05 from Product not reliable The nice looking hood was installed as an upgrade in a new Toll Brothers home. Within 6-7 weeks of moving in the house the Blower motor broke down and needs to be replaced. Calls to Kitchen Aid help desk has long 30+ min wait times. On a positive note the customer service reps are very polite and helpful. However, Kitchen Aid has only one service provider in the area and their technician insists that the hood has to be uninstalled before they can replace the motor. It is a huge unexpected mess. We regret buying the product and to make matters worse all our other appliances are whirlpool and the cook top has also broken down within the short use period.

Grease pours down wall after cooking. Had manufacturer representative out on two separate service calls. On 4/15/21, representative stated that grease running down wall after cooking was normal. No solution from manufacturer representative. Former residence had Viking hood for 18 years, never had grease run down wall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JP11 from Glorified Home Decor Stay away from this range hood (and all KA products for that matter). Mine failed after less than 2.5 years due to a fried circuit board (Also had an oven/microwave combo that failed within one month). The KA-contracted vendor informed me it happens all the time with their products and quoted a price of $800 to fix it. KA Customer Service offered me a 15% coupon to buy a new one…some sort of “Loyalty Program” where they continue to make more $ and I get another product that will stop working in no time. Their products look nice so if you view these things as Home Décor go for it, but if you actually plan to use the appliance and you know, want it to work, go with another company where the prices actually match the value.

I cooked dinner twice and then......Grease? Dripping down the wall. Kitchen aid repair was called, repairman unsure what could cause this? Coming back next week to replace motor and see if that fixes the problem !?! Really unhappy

Rated 5 out of 5 by hilljeff from No more cooking smells I bought this hood to go along with the KitcheAid 6 burner Rangetop. The hood is quiet on the first setting, 39dB, and works well keeping saute smells from wafting through the kitchen and areas of the house that are close to the kitchen. Each setting above 1 gets progressively louder but is acceptable due to what the hood was designed to do. When grilling on a grill pan or cooking fish I use the 3rd fan setting. The blower, 400cfm, removes the cooking smells and keeps the kitchen from being smokey.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dissed from Chimney has Ugly Holes!! We purchase this vent hood as a part of an entire kitchen suite and are very disappointed with the chimney sections provided with the product. The product descriptive information states that the chimney is suitable for rooms with up to a 9' ceiling. What they don't tell you is that they provide the chimney in two sections that must be connected. One of those sections has dozens of holes on each side ostensibly for people that vent the canopy back into the room. But for most of us who vent the hood outside we are left with those ugly holes that are ideally sized to attract and harbor insects with no way to easily remove them. A call to KitchenAid was an unpleasant experience with an individual uninterested in listening and then telling me "sorry you don't like it, we can't help, now please go away". We are not happy with the product or the service.

With my previous hood, I could barely see the surface of my stove top. Secondly, this fume hood is much quieter than my previous hood with the exception of the highest motor speed.
