A 10-inch Even-Heat™ Ultra element provides versatility for both high- and low-temperature cooking, and has multiple simmer settings. And with a 3-speed fan with 300 CFM exhaust rating, the venting can keep up with your culinary feats.

Provides more versatility for high and low temperature cooking techniques. Even-Heat™ Technology maintains a constant supply of power and delivers a range of simmer settings.

6'' Even-Heat™ Element with Melt Setting

Combines the benefits of Even-Heat™ Technology with a dedicated setting that reaches the low temperatures needed to melt chocolate or butter without scorching.

3-Speed Fan Control

Can be precisely matched to cooking needs, effectively removing steam, grease, and odors from the air.

Convertible to Duct-Free Ventilation

Allows a downdraft cooktop to be placed nearly anywhere in the kitchen using a duct-free conversion kit (not included). This filters and recirculates the air without running ductwork, ideal for kitchens with installation restrictions or ducting limitations.

Additional Features

Rated 5 out of 5 by Debra45 from Great features! I bought a 30" KitchenAid down draft cook top to replace a Jenn Air. I am so pleased with it. It looks great and gives my kitchen a well needed updated look. My Jenn Air lasted 25 years and the only reason I'm replaced it was the down draft area has become rusty. I love the chrome knobs on the KitchenAid. I would like to speak with someone to see if I have an installation issue or a replacement is needed, the rubber gasket that puts the cooktop together is not there on the right side behind the down draft screen. While cleaning the down draft area I cut my finger.

We called the store and reported that the 1st one we purchased didn’t fix evening the cut out area because the stove was bent. It was replaced without any problems and we are pleased.

We noticed it on the unpacking and we’re able to refuse delivery. The company sent a replacement unit no problem. Received that one a few weeks later which was in perfect condition. Just started to use it a month ago. It works great. Even cooking, elements heat up about the same of our other flattop. Down draft captured steam from cooking quite well. We are very happy with our selection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JB153873 from Downdraft cooktop Our cooktop was installed a month ago, replacing an older downdraft electric unit. The new KitchenAid cooktop is a big improvement. LIKES: Manual controls. Strong exhaust fan with three position fan speed selection. Multiple cook surfaces have specialized options for cook temperature selection or cookware size. Rapid heating response rate from cook elements. A heating surface with selectable small-large cookware size. Efficiency—a wide range of power to elements lets user get a cooking task done at lower power setting. Our 30-inch cooktop has sufficient space to handle four cooking tasks at once. General appearance and color compliment a modern kitchen design. CONCERN: Cooktop can be scratched by some cookware if not handled carefully. Unless well cleaned, rinsed and dried, the black surface shows smudges and smears from quick or indifferent cleanup efforts. Overall, we are very happy with our choice.

Cooktop selection with built in downdraft is limited at best. I would have liked a knobless model but it doesn’t exist with a built in downdraft. Being black in color means it shows cooking stains easily but it cleans up nicely if done promptly. Overall a very good cooktop.
