But NSF means it is. see below. What does NSF stand for? NSF, National Sanitation Foundation, is a non-profit organization founded in 1944, whose goal was to create standards for food safety and sanitation to promote public health. When you purchase NSF certified foodservice products, it means: The manufacturer of foodservice products uses only FDA approved raw materials Products passed numerous NSF testing for material safety, design, construction, and product performance A guarantee that harmful chemicals won’t seep into and contaminate the food of your customers Products are commercial dishwasher safe and will not likely harbor bacteria

Rated 3 out of 5 by AussieJoe from NOT DISHWASHER SAFE This bowl is great with the Kitchenaid mixer, but unfortunately does not appear to be dishwasher safe, which is a shame. If you check the bowl you can see that it is not stamped “Dishwasher Safe” and this is not listed as a “Feature” on the KitchenAid website. Obviously if it was they would clearly say so.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Paigehasarms from Can’t mix thick doughs I’ve had a kitchen aid for quite some time and have never had any issues with the original bowl... other than I need at least two of them. My partner bought me this bowl after I kept putting it off, I was elated. That is until I used it for the first time, and we both struggled to get the bowl to click in place. Concerned that the wrong one had been purchased we double checked and it appeared to be a correct replacement bowl. I have used it many times at this point and if I mix any doughs on the thicker side (i.e. pizza doughs or some breads) the whole bowl pops out of place, doesn’t matter the speed setting. Again, I haven’t had this issue with the original bowl. I will also note, the quality of this bowl isn’t as nice as the original, which is sad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad Listing from DOES NOT FIT KSM8990 I bought this bowl in addition to buying the KSM8990 as it mentions its compatible. Its not. Customer service was awful trying to remedy this to get the right 5qt bowl that fits the mixer. Its been over a week and they still haven't corrected their website which is very disappointing that someone else is going to have this problem to.
