WHY SHOULD I USE A CERAMIC BOWL WITH MY STAND MIXER?
In addition to offering more design options, all KitchenAid® ceramic stand mixer bowls are freezer, microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. They’re ideal for baking—use them to soften butter, temper chocolate, harden or cool ingredients in a single bowl. Their style and function make it possible to take a dish from start to finish in one decorative bowl.
KitchenAid® ceramic bowls are made from durable, long-lasting ceramic that resists chipping, cracking, crazing and staining, and they’re guaranteed with a 5-year no chip limited warranty3. They’re great for storing frozen desserts, doughs and other foods that need freezing. The non-porous ceramic bowl will not absorb odors, flavors, or bacteria from food in the freezer.
KitchenAid brand offers a wide range of bowls in addition to ceramic options. KitchenAid® stainless steel bowls are ideal for keeping ingredients cold, like butter for doughs and pastries, as well as cream for whipped toppings and frostings—but they aren’t microwave or oven safe. KitchenAid® glass bowls make it easy to monitor your mixing progress and some feature easy-to-read measurement markings on the side of the bowl to ensure accurate measuring—but they aren’t oven safe.

TIP: CERAMIC BOWLS IN OVENS & ON STOVETOPS
Ceramic bowls are oven safe up to 475ºF but it’s not recommended to place these bowls directly under the broiler and a frozen ceramic bowl should never be placed in a hot oven. To avoid damage, a ceramic bowl should not be used over direct heat or flame.
WHICH CERAMIC BOWL CAN I USE WITH MY KITCHENAID® STAND MIXER?
KitchenAid® ceramic bowls fit all 4.5 and 5 quart KitchenAid® tilt-head stand mixers.1 Tilt-head stand mixer bowls twist onto the base of the mixer and are not interchangeable with bowl-lift models. There are a variety of stand mixer bowls in stainless or glass, designed to fit smaller tilt-head or larger bowl-lift stand mixers.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED TO REPLACE MY CERAMIC BOWL?
KitchenAid® ceramic bowls are designed to endure, but you should check ceramic bowls periodically for the rare crack or chip. If you find damage, it’s time to replace it. You may never need to replace your bowl but it’s always nice to have more than one bowl on hand to help multitask and for displaying multiple looks. Keep an extra bowl on hand when making a multi-component dish, or simply switch out your bowls to match the seasons or your moods.
ARE KITCHENAID® CERAMIC STAND MIXER BOWLS DISHWASHER SAFE?
All KitchenAid® ceramic bowls are dishwasher safe. If your bowl has baked on food, soak it in soapy water for 15-20 minutes before placing it on either the top or bottom rack of the dishwasher. If your ceramic bowl has a pattern or painted design, hand washing in hot, sudsy water will help ensure that the design is preserved. Always make sure your ceramic mixing bowls are thoroughly dry before storing.
