If you’re installing a new wall oven or replacing your old one, you’ll want to make sure you find an appliance that’s the perfect fit for your kitchen layout as well as your cooking process. In this wall oven sizes guide, learn how to measure your kitchen for a wall oven while you explore all your options and possibilities.

What is a standard wall oven size?

Standard wall oven sizes are usually 24, 27 or 30 inches wide to fit in cabinet cutouts of roughly the same size. Depth and height won’t change much as the wall oven gets wider, with most models being 22 to 24 inches deep and 27 to 29 inches high. Keep in mind these dimensions are generalized and you should always consult the manufacturer’s recommended cut-out dimensions before purchasing a model.

Capacity: Expect around 2 to 3.5 cubic feet of interior space for a 24-inch-wide single wall oven and around 4 to 5 cubic feet for a 27 or 30-inch-wide single wall oven.

Width: Most wall ovens will be 24, 27 or 30 inches wide to align with standard cabinet widths. KitchenAid brand offers all three: learn more about wall oven sizes by exploring KitchenAid® 24-inch wall ovens, 27-inch wall ovens and 30-inch wall ovens

Depth: Typical wall oven depths range from 22 to 24 inches to accommodate standard kitchen cabinets, with total unit depth being approximately 27 inches including the door and handle. An open door will add about 20 inches to the depth, so make sure that area is clear.

Height: Around 27 to 29 inches of height is standard for most single wall ovens.

What are average double wall oven dimensions?

In double wall ovens, both ovens are usually the exact same size, though there will be only one control panel for both ovens. The width and depth will be the same as a single wall oven, but the height will be around 51 inches. The capacity will most likely be double the single wall oven, so from 5 to 7 total combined cubic feet for 24-inch-wide wall ovens and 8 to 10 total combined cubic feet for 27 and 30-inch-wide wall ovens. If you’re looking for maximum cook space for your masterpieces, browse KitchenAid® double wall ovens with 10 cubic feet of capacity.

How can I measure my current wall oven cabinet dimensions?

Width: Use measuring tape to measure from the left inside cabinet edge to the right inside cabinet edge. Keep in mind that the oven should be a fairly tight fit in the cutout.

Depth: Measure from the back of the opening to the front of the cabinets. Keep in mind the oven door will extend past the cabinets. Make sure there is at least 20 inches of open space in front of the oven so you can fully open the door to load and unload your food.

Height: Measure from the top of the cabinet opening to the bottom of the cabinet opening. Again, a tighter fit is ideal.

Note: Always reference the manufacturer's cut-out dimensions for your model to ensure correct installation.

TIP: PLACE THE TOP OF THE WALL OVEN AT EYE LEVEL

When deciding how high above the floor to install the wall oven, the only requirement is that there’s enough clearance for the door to fully open. An ideal height would be for the top oven to open below the waist and the console to be at eye level for whoever uses it most.
