Wall oven sizes: How to choose the right fit
If you’re replacing your old wall oven, you’ll want to make sure you find a new wall oven that’s the perfect fit for your kitchen layout, as well as your cooking process. In this wall oven sizes guide, learn how to measure your kitchen for the right wall oven dimensions while you explore all your options and possibilities for different types of wall ovens.
How to measure for standard wall oven size
1. Measure for standard wall oven capacity
Expect around 2 to 3.5 cubic feet of interior space for a 24-inch-wide single wall oven and around 4 to 5 cubic feet for a 27 or 30-inch-wide single wall oven.
2. Measure for standard wall oven width
Most wall ovens will be 24, 27 or 30 inches wide to align with standard cabinet widths. KitchenAid offers all three: learn more about wall oven sizes by exploring KitchenAid® 24-inch wall ovens, 27-inch wall ovens and 30-inch wall ovens.
3. Measure for standard wall oven depth
Typical wall oven depths range from 22 to 24 inches to accommodate standard kitchen cabinets, with total unit depth being approximately 27 inches including the door and handle. An open door will add about 20 inches to the depth, so make sure that area is clear.
4. Measure for standard wall oven height
Around 27 to 29 inches of height is standard for most single wall ovens. Browse all single wall ovens from KitchenAid to find the right one for your kitchen.

What are double wall oven dimensions?
Double wall ovens have the same width and depth as a single wall oven, but the height will be around 51 inches. Capacity will be double the single wall oven, so from 5 to 7 total combined cubic feet for 24-inch-wide wall ovens and 8 to 10 total combined cubic feet for 27 and 30-inch-wide wall ovens.
Both ovens are usually the exact same size, though there will be only one control panel for both ovens. If you’re looking for maximum cook space for your masterpieces, browse KitchenAid® double wall ovens with 10 cubic feet of capacity. How can I measure my current wall oven cabinet dimensions?
For a proper fit, carefully measure the width, depth and height of your cabinet opening following the steps below. Always reference the manufacturer’s cutout dimensions for your model to ensure correct installation.
1. Measure for wall oven cabinet width
Use measuring tape to measure from the left inside cabinet edge to the right inside cabinet edge. Keep in mind that the oven should be a fairly tight fit in the cutout.
2. Measure for standard wall oven depth
Measure from the back of the opening to the front of the cabinets. Keep in mind the oven door will extend past the cabinets. Make sure there is at least 20 inches of open space in front of the oven so you can fully open the door to load and unload your food.
3. Measure for wall oven cabinet height
Measure from the top of the cabinet opening to the bottom of the cabinet opening. Again, a tighter fit is ideal. Once you understand the dimensional requirements, consider how cooking capacity differs between single and double wall ovens to make the best choice for your household.

Tip: place the top of the wall oven at eye level
When deciding how high above the floor to install the wall oven, the only requirement is that there’s enough clearance for the door to fully open. An ideal height would be for the top oven to open below the waist and the console to be at eye level for whoever uses it most.
What else should I consider when looking for a new wall oven?
Once you’re sure about the wall oven dimensions you need, start to think about other considerations that will help you create in the kitchen, like features and finishes that match your cooking and aesthetic style.
