automatically alerts you if the temperature isn’t safe for cold storage. Sensors trigger the alarm if the refrigerator temperature rises above 45°F
(7°C) for more than 4 hours. The alarm shuts off once temperatures return to normal.

Door Alarm

automatically alerts you when the door has been left open before items inside rise above their ideal temperature. The alarm sounds after fives minutes and goes off every two minutes until the door has been closed or the controls have been pressed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mark38 from No Customer Support-Compressor Broke at 3 Months Loved the look and convenience and worked great for 3 months. Then the compressor went out and we have not been able to replace it as the compressor has been unavailable for the last 4 months. Each time it is ordered (through KitchenAid's part distributor) we are given a date of 1 month for delivery only to be told it is further back ordered and will be delayed another month. It is a very expensive double drawer if there is no way to replace a part when it goes out. We would not recommend buying this unit but if you do buy 2 so you have replacement parts available. Based on other reviews it looks like other parts go out pretty frequently as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Armando E from Great Refrigerator very poor Freezer We bought this refrigerator to use bc we wanted a combo but didnt need a full fridge. We have had to replace the motherboard and the ice maker 3 times and it still is not fixed. We have had it repaired 10 times!!!! Either the ice maker makes too much ice or none at all. I believe there is a design flaw with the ice maker and it does not know how much ice there is in the bin. Design defect and needs to be fixed. I would have rated this a 5 star if it were just a fridge. Im trying to get kitchen aide to help me replace it with just a two drawer frige because of all the problems unless they have changed the way the ice maker works. Kitchen aide Help me!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lake Mom from So Far, So Good I read a lot of negative reviews about this product, but took a leap of faith during our remodel because it is the only one of its kind on the market (fridge/freezer/icemaker combo). After three months of heavy daily use, it is still working great. I do think it could be designed a bit better inside--the rubber mat causes the beverages to wobble/clank against each other and the attached divider reduces the capacity due to the limited arrangement options. The ice is large cubes, I prefer the small nuggets like the KitchenAid refrigerator's ice maker, but it produces ice fast--a full bin overnight. One final thought ... why wouldn't this come in print shield? It looks terrible compared to my other KitchenAid print shield appliances. But overall, it is a great product.

It is used primarily for a wheelchair-bound person who can't access our standard refrigerator, and for guests in our coffee/beverage area. The ice maker was a must. There was a screw frozen into our first batch of ice but it doesn't seem to have been important! The only issue we have is that the ice in the bottom freezes into one large block of ice; then the new ice overflows and gets pushed out behind the unit and sometimes keeps the drawer from closing. A person in a wheelchair can't reach in to clear the ice jamb. It would be nice if we could set it to not make so much ice that it overflows.

In 5 years we have spent nearly as much in repairs as it would cost to purchase the appliance new. We have had to replace the control board twice. We are also on our 3rd icemaker in the French door unit. I am so sorry that we ever purchased KitchenAid appliances. They are so unreliable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JY-NYC from Poor design, Very disappointing, mediocre quality I installed my KUDF204EPA fridge a few months ago. Each time I open the freezer drawer there is a TERRIBLE metal scraping sound that drives me nuts! When I have friends over they will ask me “what happened to your fridge” when they hear the startling sound. I called for the service tech to come out the day after I installed the fridge because I couldn’t believe that this is the way the freezer was designed. The repairman confirmed that the scraping sounds was “completely normal for this model. The “replace filter” light turned on after just a few weeks - I can’t wait to find out how much that will cost me to repair/replace. I bought this fridge because I had no other panel fridge/freezer/ice drawer options. If I could have gotten a different fridge I certainly would have done that. Do your best trying to avoid buying his fridge - it’s a rip off and has several significant design flaws.

Dimensions and features made it perfect for this application. Unfortunately, the unit is either poorly designed, poorly constructed, or both. Serviced twice already. The unit allows air to enter the freezer drawer which condenses and creates ice build up which renders the drawer inoperable except to the very strong to force it open and break/dislodge all the ice. If this were a car there would be a recall notice because the appliance is simply NOT fit to serve the purpose for which it was marketed. Very disappointed particularly given the price point.

The unit is always saying "Over Temp". It says quiet if the drawers are not opened for several days If a drawer is opened, then it is 100% guaranteed that the "over temp" warning will go off. If it went off once, Id be fine with that, but it goes off every 4 hours for several reset cycles. We hd the service tech out yesterday. The alarm went off 4 times. the over temp warning is the most ridiculous feature, it should be able to be turned off.
