Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 Granny Smith apple
1 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
2 cups all purpose flour
Step by step
Preheat oven to 350° F
Butter 9-inch cake pan. Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a large bowl. Place 1/2 cup softened butter and both sugars in bowl of KitchenAid® Stand Mixer with Flat Beater attached. Mix on Speed 4 until combined, 3-4 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until just combined, about 1 minute. Add flour mixture 1 cup at a time, alternately with sour cream, ending with sour cream. Do not over mix. Spread batter into prepared pan.
Attach Vegetable Sheet Cutter Attachment to KitchenAid® Stand Mixer. Insert food holder into center of one end of apple and secure onto attachment. Insert food skewer through apple, up to first mark. Attach Thin Blade to attachment. Position bowl under blade to catch apple. Turn Stand Mixer to Speed 2 and position blade against apple to process. Drizzle apple sheet with lemon juice to prevent browning. Transfer to cutting board and cut horizontally then into 4-5-inch lengths.
Push apple sheets vertically into batter making swirling patterns. Sprinkle with crunch topping and bake until pick comes out clean, 35-40 minutes.
Remove from oven and cool completely before serving.
