Rated 2 out of 5 by from Do NOT buy this Money Pit After extensive research, we bought this unit 9/16 as part of a kitchen renovation. Replaced in 5 days as freezer made no ice.Since then temp problems have spoiled both frozen and refrigerated foods Badger Bob's Appliance of Sarasota has now made 5 calls in 30 months to replace 2 capacitors and thaw the ice maker - a total of $890 in service calls! (Almost half the original price.) Plus I fixed it once and our maintenance man fixed it once. Badger called Whirlpool, and they had no answer. Badger said to expect it to occur quarterly. We are now shopping for a replacement! $3,000 down the drain!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Awful quality This unit was part of a complete Kitchen Aid appliance set for our new construction home purchased in July 2015. Less than 3 years later it has suffered from numerous build and design quality issues: inoperative ice maker that forced me to disassemble the unit and reinstall to remedy, a broken freezer drawer, and now a fried control board that requires replacement of the board and the evaporator fan. This failure has caused the refrigerator portion to stop working and the parts are out of warranty. Full diagnosis and repair is over $600 for a unit that is less than three years old and retailed for over $2,500. Frankly for a "high end" consumer line of appliances this is unacceptable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality, very dissatisfied, $$ to repair We've had this refrigerator for 4 years and have spent $700 to repair it and it continues to fail. Very disappointed as we have KitchenAid Dishwasher and KitchenAid Double Oven (dual fuel), and the quality has not been what I expect in the brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible product We have had our current refrigerator for about 1 1/2 years. It was a replacement from one we had for about a year that had constant problems with the condenser freezing up. After 2 repairs we were finally able to get a brand new one. It has worked up until now. The condenser has frozen up again and the ice maker is not keeping the ice cold enough. I am not going to go thru the hassle any more of having to unload my entire fridge and spend an entire day defrosting. It sucks but I am going to have to replace it with a different brand. Very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from broke after 3 years $500 repair just for labor Bought 3 years ago. Parts were covered under manufacturer warranty. 3 years later the fridge broke, and they told me to plan on $500 just in labor to repair. What a waste. Not going to sink money into a faulty refrigerator.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed with all my appliances We bought all new KitchenAid appliances for a new house three years ago. We had issues with the fridge since the beginning: the condenser unit froze up. At the time, we replaced the rubber between the door and the unit. Now, close to the third anniversary and at the same time as other appliances started to fail, it is happening again. I am tired of having to move things to my garage refrigerator, to unfreeze this one, to have the issue return days later. Trying to repair it one last time but ready to just throw this one away a get a new one - obviously not a KitchenAid.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this refrigerator 5 days ago & ice makerD Oh, and the door is a little off. Sorry not happy right now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from flawed design Bought this model 2 years ago, it had intermittent ice and water for 1.5 years, then it started losing temp. in the freezer, and warming in the fridge section. 3 repair calls later, it appears to be a flawed design. Kitchen Aid will not repair or replace it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible hazard We were unfortunate to have inherited this hazard of an appliance. We recently purchased our home and we're delighted by the finishes of the kitchen only to find that what we thought was a minor icemaker problem was a Control panel filled with ice. The ice maker has somehow filled the entire electronics compartment and frozen it into what the technician called "a museum quality piece of ice" leaving in a state where he could not even work on it without the entire door defrosting. Our home warranty wouldn't even cover a replacement or proper repair leaving us with no other option but to replace it. This appliance is four years old, I would recommend staying away from it.
