Ingredients

1 15-ounce (425 grams) can chickpeas

¼ cup (60 mL) chickpea liquid or water

¼ cup (60 mL) tahini

2 tablespoons (30 mL) olive oil, plus extra to drizzle

2 tablespoons (30 mL) lemon juice

1 clove (4 grams) garlic

½ teaspoon (2 grams) cumin

¼ teaspoon (1 gram) salt

½ cup (75 grams) roasted red peppers

1 cup (16 grams) cilantro

½ cup (112 grams) Kalamata olives

¼ cup (35 grams) sesame seeds

2 tablespoons (18 grams) cumin seeds

2 tablespoons (14 grams) coriander seeds

Olive oil for mixing and drizzling

Step by step

  1. Add hummus ingredients in order listed to KitchenAid® Cordless Go Food Chopper and process until smooth.

  2. To make topping selections, add roasted peppers and 2 tablespoons olive oil to KitchenAid® Cordless Go Top Down Chopper and pulse until finely chopped. Repeat with cilantro and kalamata olives.

  3. Add sesame seeds to KitchenAid® Cordless Go Spice Grinder and pulse. Repeat with cumin seeds and coriander seeds.

  4. Set out toppings with hummus and freshly ground spices, and extra olive oil for drizzling. Serve with pita chips, carrot spears, and sliced cucumber.
