The KitchenAid® NSF Certified® Commercial Series 8 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer features a stainless steel bowl guard and a powerful, 1.3 HP Motor1. Horsepower for our mixer motors was measured using a dynamometer, a machine laboratories routinely use to measure the mechanical power of motors. Our 1.3 horsepower (HP) motor reference reflects the horsepower rating of the motor itself and not the mixer’s horsepower output to the mixer bowl. This robust motor, the backbone of our new mixer, delivers .44 HP to the bowl enabling your mixer to deliver consistent power to small and large loads with less heat build-up; resulting in years of dependable mixing. Whencombined with, and guided by our new advanced motor control board, this is our longest lasting and most efficient motor yet. Simply put, our new, highly efficient, special purpose motor delivers the power you need when you need it.
Provides added safety, to prevent items from entering the mix area during operation.
Bowl-Lift Design
Provides sturdy bowl support for stability when mixing heavy ingredients or large batches. The lever smoothly raises the mixing bowl into position for efficient beater-to-bowl contact.
High Efficiency DC Motor
Designed to run longer and delivers optimum torque with less heat buildup. Easily handles recipes requiring longer mixing, kneading and whipping times.
8 Quart Stainless Steel Bowl
Easily mixes recipes with up to 16 cups of flour, 14 dozen cookies or kneads dough for 81⁄4 loaves
of bread in a single batch.

Great but wrong designIn all honesty I bought it cause it was big and had a horse power motor (much quieter) I also got it cause it a commercial mixer why would KitchenAid let the cooks down?! Well you let us down. First off since the head doesn't tilt back cause it's so tall so I can fit under the kitchen cupboards it has a lift you have to remove the attachments to push frosting and batter down if you want to get it really well you have to literally pry the bowl out with the attachment and take out the attachment if you really really want to make sure it gets well mixed . The second reason it doesn't mix well we tried to make cream cheese frosting we put butter in first then the rest of the ingredients. We started to pipe the cupcakes and the butter had stuck to the bottom the sides and a few squares of butter got trapped in the wisk. Chunks of butter clogged the piping bag and made a mess. Make for mad human when they are trying to make it look pretty. Other then those reasons it so far a great product but we have only used it about 5 or more times for each batch. Did ok with batter. butter it hates I guess! Attached a photo of butter that got stuck

True Workhorse!I bought this to use in my commercial bakery and have not been disappointed in the least! We can mix/knead fondant, cakes, breads, anything we need with this and it runs like a champ - I highly recommend this mixer!

Not your Mom's mixer8th time using for dough, tab broke off bowl while mixing. Look at the pictures - 3 tiny welds holding the tabs on that hold the bowl in place. Result: tab broke clean off, bowl started oscillating, entire holding apparatus ruined. This is NOT a commercial design - maybe the motor is, but the bowl is a cheap, very bad, joke.

Quiet...but mighty. I call it "The Beast"I purchased my new mixer two weeks ago. I am amazed at how much quieter it is than my previous 6 quart KitchenAid, but it is much more powerful. This 8 quart "beast" handled 4 loaves a bread without a problem.

A step above my Commercial 600 series.I have a 30+year old KitchenAid mixer, passed on to me from my mother and a commercial model 600 that is 10 years old. I had to clean the contacts in the speed control recently from flour, but nothing else has gone wrong with either one. Bought this one to be able to make even more bread, and the only problem is the lack of counter space for all three at once.

Excellent ProductMy son gave me as my Christmas present. It is something I’ve wanted for a long time. I have two smaller sizes, and really needed this for baking my Jamaican fruit cakes. Very powerful, gets the job done quickly. I have been a kitchenaid customer for years. My only complaint is THAT THE FLEX EDGE BEATER NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED WITH THE PURCHASE.
Thanks.

Love my Mixer!I am an aspiring cook (home) and I got this as a gift to myself. This is everything that I need. This sits beside my 4.5 qt mixer that I have had for 20 years. It handles double and triple batches of cookie down without breaking a sweat. Bread dough is a breeze. And it handles small batches even better than my older stand mixer does.

Works quickerI just used it for the first time and it seems to be doing great.
I have the 6 quart for more than 10 years and I never had a problem, I just needed something larger. I wish the bowl was as sturdy as the 6 quart.

8qt mixerI purchased this 8qt mixer to replace a 5qt lift mixer. The 5 qt was about 12 years old and was just a little too small. This 8qt is well built with a perfect capacity for my dough.
