Great chopper, but Kitchenaid cheaped out on the lThis is my SECOND Kitchenaid chopper - both broke because of the same problem., the poor design of the lids. I am usually brand loyal to Kitchenaid, but this is a huge disappointment. The least they could do is keep these lids in stock and GIVE THEM TO US FOR FREE, since we all seem to be having the same problem!

Love the chopper but the lid broke! We’ve had this chopper for a while but the lid cracked and I can’t find a reasonably price lid anywhere. Are the replacement lids going to be available again anytime soon? The lid we had was taped up because it cracked soon after the purchase but it still worked, this time it won’t work.

Poorly designed lidBought this in December 2014 and have used it daily ever since. A couple of years ago I was cleaning the bowl/blade/lid in the sink (I never, ever wash it in the dishwasher) and the lid slipped out of my hands and dropped into the sink. It fell apart and one of the springs went down the drain. I ordered a new lid. This morning I was reassembling the bowl/blade/lid and accidentally dropped the lid on the floor. It fell apart. I thought I would be okay this time because I have all the parts, but no. Even though I've reassembled it correctly, it won't stay together! So now I'm stuck with an appliance that while it *looks* brand new (and has performed perfectly for years, save the poorly designed lid), it can't be used - nor can I purchase a replacement part at a reasonable price here or elsewhere. Compare this to the other KA appliances I own (mixer/Precise Heat Mixing Bowl/blender) and the quality of this is very poor.

Lovely Chopper, Awful Lid!Well, you can probably guess why I'm here . . . Same problem as the other reviewers. The chopper itself works beautifully--I love it! But now I can't use it because the lid fell to pieces. I can kind of balance them in a way that will make it usable, but using two-stage epoxy didn't do a thing to put it together again. Will be contacting the company for a replacement.

Lid broke like everyone elseI was happy with the product's performance other than the lids. One side broke early on but was still able to use the other side at least. Now both are broken and you're out of replacement lids :P Hate having to toss a product that otherwise works

Lid Broke - like everyone else reviewing hereLike evryone else revieiwing here, the lid to what "once" was a terrific small food processor has broken. I'm at this site looking for a replacement and I see that KitchenAid is out of stock. I guess I own one more disposable electronic product. Shame!

Broken lidGreat chopper but very poor lid design.
This lid is made up of 5 plastic components, 3 screws and two springs. The posts that the screws are attached to, all broke off leaving this product useless.
I managed to fix it by hot gluing what I call the hinge saddle directly to the main clear lid piece. It is located under the black button pieces. Be sure to get the black rocker piece oriented upright like a teeter totter. The black 'puree' and 'chop' pieces will then snap back into place and its ready to go.
Such a poor design for what is really a great chopper.
I hope that this helps you fix it and not toss it into the bin.
KitchenAid, if this has not already been addressed, perhaps the 66 other people that also had issues with this will encourage you to do so!

Bad lidThe machine works great!!! The problem is the lid water gets in and you can’t get it out along with food. No way to take apart to clean it. The bowl also gets water and food inside where the lid buttons connect. At least it has a screw and can take it apart to clean. I can’t use something that gets moldy and no way to clean. I have even socked the lid in bleach water. But can’t get it clean.

Lid BrokeMy wife and I received this for our wedding. It worked well for about a year until, as most everyone has found, the lid broke.

Great Chopper / lousy lid designI've had my chopper for a couple of years and it works great. My only issue is my lid broke and now I can't find a replacement anywhere. I can't use it without the lid. I would expect the manufacture to carry replacement parts.

Wish I could purchaseThis food processor is great, and I happily enjoyed using it for a year before the lid broke. I don't have room for a larger food processor, and would really appreciate being able to purchase a replacement lid instead of a replacement machine, when the rest of it works perfectly.

Lid Frustrated "shameLID"Similar to all the other reviews, can't believe finding a basic replacement part for our chopper would prove to be so challenging. If we have to buy another chopper instead of getting a replacement lid, we may as well buy a cheap less known brand. Never knew choppers were disposable, what a shame! Any help is appreciated.

Broken LidAs with everyone else who wrote a review. We love our little chopper, since we live in an apartment it is the perfect size for us. Our lid too broke and I cant seem to find replacement lids anywhere. I would hate to have to buy a whole new chopper and waste all those resources just because we require a new lid. Just more waste into landfills unfortunately. If there is an opportunity to purchase just the lid we would like to but it seems everyone's reviews are saying the same that they can not purchase them.

Lid just broke now what?I have been happily using this little chopper for a while, mostly for chopping up onions and parsley, and love how it makes these tasks so easy. But my lid just broke. Aha, I thought. I bet you can order a replacement part. But I see that it is unavailable? Perhaps because lids are breaking all over the place?

Lid unfixable and irreplaceableI bought one of these mini food processors for my daughter while she was still living at home and found it so useful that I really missed it once she moved out. My husband then gave me one last Christmas but sadly the lid broke last week (where it clips into the main bowl) and despite his attempt to fix it and my attempts to source a replacement, nothing can be done.
Disappointed because otherwise the machine is useless.

Sadly disappointedI really loved my 3.5 Cup food processor. Although the lid broke early in its life, I did manage to stick it together and it has worked ok for a while. Now the blade has "stripped" and doesn't engage. I came looking for parts hoping to buy a new lid and blade and found that the lids are no longer available. I'm really sad as I don't think I'll bother buying a blade if I can't also get a new lid. Looks like the whole unit is destined for the rubbish. Very sad and very upset :(

Cheap lid designHorrible lid design. Broke the day before Thanksgiving. I think I'm done buying KitchenAid products since this was my 2nd chopper lid to break in just a few years. Very disappointed in this product.

I USED to love this appliance...I've had this just less than 1year and totally LOVED IT.... until the lid broke 2days ago. Now this product is totally useless. I'm trying to find a replacement lid but am not having any luck. Now, I cannot recommend this product and am looking for something to replace this.

Bad lid design!I use the food chopper several times a week - just the right size for prepping recipes, without having to use my larger food processor. But the lid is a very poor design, it's hard to get a grip onto. There is nowhere to grab onto if you have wet or arthritic hands. My lid cracked & a chunk broke off so it's not usable. Why aren't there replacements available? If not I will switch to a brand with better customer service.

Super chopper - Lid IssuesI love the capabilities of this chopper. I had the lid! Too bad you can't get it to work with out the lid. My lid broke! I was hoping to get a replacement part - I hate the idea of buying another when this one works so well if only the lid wasn't broken.

Lid broke apartI love this little chopper, but was very disappointed that the plastic around the 3 screws holding this lid together all broke. Apparently there are no replacements? What a waste.

Same problems others have citedThis seems to be a nice piece of equipment with one faulty part. We had no complaints until the lid broke apart. It would be wasteful to have to replace an otherwise functional unit for so minor a flaw. Hopefully, the replacement part will be available soon.

Gross! The chopper itself works fine, but the design is garbage. Food particles get stuck under the buttons and on the the side of the bowl. I came here to order replacement parts and what do you know, they are out of stock and have been for months! Hopefully that means they are redesigning them, but that leaves me with an expensive mini-prep that I can't use. So disappointed.

Also had lid problemsAs others described the places where the 3 screw as were attached on the lid sheared off. Also the drive post "gear" in the lid stripped out. Did not think we were pushing it too hard but done.

Lid for 3.5 Cup Food Chopper - Model KFC3511Up until yesterday I was pleased with the KitchenAid 3.5 Cup Food Chopper. While washing the lid it fell apart into several pieces. When I tried putting it back together I discovered the problem was three plastic bosses with screws had sheared.

DEFECTIVE LIDI WOULD RECOMMED THESE GRINDERS TO EVERYONE IF THE LIDS DID NOT BREAK SO QUICKLY...OUR GRINDERS WERE PERFECTLY FINE FOR ABOUT ONE MONTH BEFORE THE GRIND AND PUREE BUTTONS ON THE LIDS NO LONGER WORKED. WE HAVE ALWAYS USED KITCHENAID PRODUCTS AT OUR HOUSE BUT THIS LID LACKS QUALITY. WE HAVE TWO OF THESE GRINDERS AND UNFORTUNATELY THEY BOTH BROKE (BOTH LIDS BROKE APART IN THE SAME WAY/ONE LASTED ONE MONTH AND THE OTHER TWO MONTHS) BEWARE - UNLESS KITCHENAID CORRECTS THIS PROBLEM.

Lid on chopper came apartI received this little chopper for Christmas and use it all the time. I have another brand that I use when this one is in the dish washer. I took the lid off and it dropped on the counter and the lid broke open and I could not get it back together. I am not sure if there is a part that is missing or what. It looks as though it should just snap back together, but I cannot get it do that. Looking to fix the lid, but not sure if the small pieces are replaceable or if I have to replace the whole lid or the whole appliance.
