We finished our lower level over Winter 2012, with the centerpiece a fabulous, granite countered bar. We looked at icemakers, but when we found the Kitchenaid, we stopped looking and purchased. Kitchenaid made it possible to have the drain built in, opening to the left, modern, stainless look -- all unique features not consistently provided by others. But the best was the ice! Shiny, not stuck together, consistently filling the bin time after time. We LOVED having great ice for the holiday get togethers, but with summer coming, I can see it will not get a rest....and doesn't need one! Easy instructions for turning off (we went away for a couple weeks), and annual cleaning. Love this icemaker.

This is my second kitchen aid ice maker. I had trouble with the first one, but so far....loving this one. Quite, makes ice quickly, and I love the small cubes.
