Rated 5 out of 5 by from You will love it! We recently did a kitchen makeover and purchased all new KitchenAid appliances and love all of them. We converted from electric to gas on our oven cook top but kept the electric convection on the oven. I love the microwave convection oven because I can use it to bake smaller dishes without heating up the entire large oven.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the product, not too happy with the fan loudness I wanted a double oven stove, but after looking at how low the bottom stove was I was uncertain as to what to buy. The salesman recommended the convection/microwave combination. I prefer Kitchenaid products, so I purchased the microwave. I love all the functions and being able to bake small items for everyday dinners to using the convection oven as my second oven for family parties. Because of the location of the stove my fan vents into my kitchen. The fan is extremely loud when the convection cycle is over. If I ever redo the kitchen I will have a hole cut in the ceiling and vent the fan out the attic and roof.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice features if they would have worked the first time used I bought this unit a few months ago. i set the convection oven on for the first time 4 days ago. It never heated up . I noticed that the element fan wasn't turning. Where is your quality control for your products? Had I tried every feature of this unit I would have noticed that the first day the convection element/fan was not working and the count down clock is slow. The technician came yesterday to repair the unit and had to make a phone call as to why the fan was not working. He ordered some parts for it that will arrive next week. A brand new unit that I just paid to have installed on the wall must be taken down due to defective parts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High on style and price, old school electronics Our previous model was a KHHC2090S which had a 16" interior depth, #I think# true powel levels, a menu driven touchscreen and a ton of features. Unfortunately, it had ventillation issues and was discontinued. The 1857 is the nearest existing mate to our Architect series II range. It looks beautiful. Fit and finish is top notch. The door closes with the precision of a Mercedes. However, the electronics are like something out of the '80s. Power levels are created by the hard cycling of the magnetron, just like any other microwave you can pick up at Walmart for $50. For $700 I expect inverter technology. Relays click and clack in an age when quiet solid state relays #SCR's# could be subtituted for only a few dollars more. Menus are old school fluorescent display with very slow scrolling. The convection feature does not overheat the side of the unit as bad as on the old one. So, you can effectively bake with the thing. Overall, I feel the $700 went mostly to style, but it does look good when showing off the kitchen. Absolutely not a value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best microwave I have ever owned. The kitchenaid microwave far exceeds any microwave I have ever owned. There are features on this that I haven't even discovered yet. Most of the cooking features are self explainatory and will walk you through them. There is definately no lack of cooking power. Overall, I will give this microwave a 9 out of 10, only due to the fact that it does not have a 30 second express button. Thanks for a great quality microwave. Mark

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Options! This microwave has lots of options and I use them daily. I especially like the option for selecting either "fresh" or "frozen" for veggies. The microwave "senses" and times them perfectly without guesswork from me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent microwave We've owned this microwave for three months now and its been easy to pick up the controls and has worked flawlessly. Looks great with the matching range. Haven't used the conventional oven feature yet (maybe thanksgiving).
