Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dishwasher has great features but repairs are needed after 2 years I thought KitchenAid meant quality and chose this model over a competitor's dishwasher. This dishwasher looks good in my new kitchen, however the top rack cannot handle a regular load of glasses and cereal bowls. The wheels that hold the top rack in place fell apart. Currently I am doing dishes by hand because when I try to start the 2 year old dishwasher, it starts filling up, buzzes, and then immediately drains. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I am tempted to replace this appliance with a different brand. I cannot find a repairman that can come before Thanksgiving. The only reason I replaced my 10 year old (different brand) dishwasher was because I wanted quality and a stainless steel finish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An OK dishwasher This machine washes dishes very well. It is fairly quiet. The electronic controls work well, so far. The wash compartment is large and will hold a lot of dishes. TOO BAD the RACKS are so poorly designed. We have to run this machine twice as often as the old Maytag we replaced because you cannot stand up skillets and similar pans; the vertical pegs are too close together on the lower rack. The upper rack has the vetical pegs in the wrong places for holding smaller dishes like cereal bowls or small chafing dishes. Of course, there goes the water and electricity savings that we though we would achieve by buying this expensive machine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from no independent rinse cycle We have owned many dishwashers over the years. They all had independent rinse cycles. This one doesn't. So when we have light eating at home, instead of being able to avoid odors with a rinse pending the dishwasher being full we have to do a full wash cycle every time. This is inefficient, expensive and not very green. We never even thought to ask if it had an independent rinse cycle as it is such an obviously desirably feature. I guess this is what I get for "moving up" to a premium label. The Kitchen Aid representative I emailed with says they do have dishwashers with independent rinse cycles but not this one. Should have stayed with GE.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Quality In theory - was supposed to be a great dishwasher and we paid a bit more for sound quality. In reality - it's been awful. Sound has been OK but certainly not as quiet as other similarly price units. Also - as stated by others this dishwasher is constantly breaking as the insides being made of some type of plastic which constantly becomes brittle and then fails. Huge issue. Would not recommend Kitchenaid as a viable option for anyone. Has taught me to make sure to inspect the entire inside of the dishwasher and identify where the rollers are and what they are made of. I have continued to repair but as some point you simply have to say enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Wonderful It's really nice up be able to completely fill our dishwasher with everything from fine china to the dirtiest pots and pans, and know that everything will come out sparkling clean. No more re-rinsing pots, wiping spots off wine glasses, and scraping dry food off silverware. This unit has been simply wonderful. It's beautiful, quiet, and efficient. Very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product at an excellent price QUIET, QUIET, QUIET! My old dishwasher was over 20+ yrs old, and had been broken for the last two years. When I ran my new Kitchenaid I had to keep checking it to be sure it was running! I love the adjustable height top rack. It is really helpful when putting something oversized on top or bottom. My only issue is that the prongs on the bottom rack are not adjustable. It's difficult to fit things like pie plates and deep baking dishes without loosing a lot of usable space. Overall I highly recommend the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine, very quiet. This is an excellent product. Very quiet and easy to use. I will say again, very quiet. We run the machine during our prime TV watching time and can't hear it at all. We don't even notice that it is running. The only negative comment that I have is the silverware separators don't stay in place well. They tend to sag down into the basket. Not a big deal, but a little annoying from time to time. The easiest solution is to not use the separator and just put the silverware in the basket. They still get clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and powerful At long last I upgraded from a cheesy, poor performing and noisy dish washer. Now I have to look at the signal lights to even tell if it's running! The loudest noise it makes is the water gurgling in the drain as it pumps out. NICE!
