Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like the overall design - inside racks and outside sleek look. We had an older model KitchenAid dishwasher for 10 years and one night the motor burned up. We looked at 6 - 8 other models but came back to the KitchenAid simply because of the design of the racks. The prongs on the bottom rack are far enough apart to allow for the plates to set in between them but also work well for the pots and other items. I really like the Pro Scrub feature since there is NOT a Rinse and Hold. The top rack has a good design as well for various sizes of dishes. The Heat Dry feature alone does not dry the dishes well so I add the High Temp Scrub and that will have the dishes mostly dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs quiet, poor design features This dishwasher is very quiet and seems to be of solid construction. However, silverware slot lids on baskets will not stay in place...too easily come out of tracks when removing silverware and are awkward to set back in place- very annoying. Upper and lower racks are too uniform, so they do not readily accept varying sizes of dishes, bowls, cups, and glasses. Just about all of the cycles take too long, we now only use the shortest cycle, the one-hour cycle. Plastic vent on inside of door broke within first month. I regret making the decision to purchase this dishwasher based on sound rating....wish I had paid more attention to racks, loading features, and cycle times when comparing it with other brands before purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This dishwasher is a dream! I would have replaced my Miele long ago if I knew this about KitchenAid. How did the interior get so tall! Room for big casserole dishes and pots and pans. Also has a heavy duty scrapper cycle that really works. Upper rack holds wine glasses and their stems securely in an upright position. Only minor flaw is the plastic separator piece that fits over the silverware basket is to flimsy to bear the weight of the silverware and stay in place. Tossed it after the second try. No problem as silverware stands in the basket fine without the separator piece. I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good, but not perfect When we close the door after loading the dishwasher, our fingers often hit the control panel which turns on lights as we are reaching for the outside handle to lift the door to closed position. Then we have to shut them off before we close the door. Location of all those touch pads is not great. Also, when placing the first few cups on the top shelf of the dishwasher, the shelf rolls forward and has to be pushed back all the time. We try to place things in the back of the shelf first to add weight in the back so that the shelf won't roll forward all the time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Second Kitchenaid Dishwasher I can't imagine getting any other brand. This is my second dishwasher. I choose this brand again because my first experience with the Kitchenaid dishwasher was great. I had it for over 20 years with only a monor repair. Is model is very quiet, uses less water and does an excelent job cleaning the dishes. I have nothing negative to say about the perfomance. My only comment, and it is just an abservation, is that you must be mindful of not putting a tall dish near the side where the door opens with the soap. Apparently, most new dishwashers are designed this way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent all-around dishwasher I purchased this unit to replace an existing Kitchen Aid model that came with the home my wife and I purchased last year. The new model was identical in design to match the other appliances, and we're very happy with it. It's amazingly quiet, looks great and works great. The overall quality seems to be very good and worth the money. We've only had it for about a month, but so far so good. There are various Kitchen Aid models to choose from but this particular model does not have a rinse only feature, which I didn't realize when I purchased it. Sometimes that comes in handy and I overlooked this, but I'm very happy with the unit anyway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Poorly designed silverware caddy We bought this dishwasher when we did a complete remodel of our kitchen. The looks and performance are excellent. It does a great job in cleaning the dishes and the drying cycle works very long as you use some sort of rinse or drying agent. The directions tell you to and it's VERY important to do so. Without it,water remains on your dishes and the inside of the dishwasher. This dishwasher is very quiet! I have excellent hearing and cannot hear it when it's running. My only complaint about it is what I think is a poorly designed silverware caddy. Specifically the lids or tops of the caddy. They tend to come unhinged from the caddy when you put silverware down into it. It was very annoying until my clever husband tied them in place with zip ties. They work very well to keep the tops on while putting silverware in and out. I had to change the silverware I use because the handles were too wide to fit in most of the slots. But, we made those adjustments ....which we shouldn't have had to do .....and I'm generally very happy with this dishwasher.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks good from the outside - not as well performing as we'd hoped given the cost. We only run our dishwasher once a day. If food isn't completely rinsed off, it gets baked on in the dishwasher. The silverware compartment often has food in it, as does the bottom of the appliance. Often, items need to be hand dried, even after using the "heat dry" setting. Don't understand what we're doing wrong.
