30-Inch 5 Burner Gas Cooktop, Architect® Series II is rated 4.619 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love cooking on it! Love cooking on the stove top. Fast and efficient. Looks nice. Grill doesn't stick up too high above burners. And another really important fact---stovetop is shallow enough that we could get a drawer directly under the countertop to store my cooking utensils, then 2 large drawers under top one for pots and pans. PROBLEM: when I used a stainless steel cleaner to wipe it off, the lettering on the knobs began to wipe off. :-( SUGGESTION: Put hinges on the back of the grill so it can be raised up to clean surface instead of having to lift off the heavy metal to clean underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I purchased this cook top three months ago and I absolutely love it! Everything cooks perfectly! I purchased this three months ago and love my Kitchen Aid cooktop! The varying btu's allow for even cooking and great for simmering and quick boiling. I also like the sturdy cast iron grates, the pots and pans are not wobbling as the food is cooking. I cook from scratch and use my stove alot and it still looks brand new! I have all Kitchen Aid appliances in my kitchen and absolutely love them all! While Kitchen Aid products may cost more than some other brands, they are absolutely worth the extra money because the quality cannot be matched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love having 5 burners with level grills I love having the 5th burner with 2 levels of cooking. I can use high setting to get big pot to boil & then lower to simmer. I replaced an older 30in gas top with this & love that I have a full level surface to work on. Plus the igniting is so safe (before had to turn past high gas to ignite & then turn back to high gas to get a flame).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from design We had the original daisy burner Kitchen aid cook top. It served us well but was a bear to clean. The new one is a breeze to clean. The only complaint would be that the gas nozzles are exposed and on one occasion one has clogged up, probably from a boil over. It was relatively easy to fix. The other great feature is 5 useable burners in a 30 inch top. Good design. It also was the only one that had reduced vertical depth that matched our old one. Without that feature we would have had needed some major cabinet work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to use All of the features work so well and so easy. The stainless steel is such high quality that it cleans up very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the price but things I wish I knew before I purchased Basically this a 5 burner stove that fit in the space I had available and I desperately needed a new cook top. What I wish I had realized is before purchasing is:1) stainless steel scratches ridculously easily--dry quinoa permanently scratched the top the first time I cleaned it; 2) the middle power burner is fabulous for boiling pasta pots but it still focuses the heat very intensely so you can't use it for a griddle for pancakes. You need an oblong shaped burner to get that with a griddle. I still have trouble putting my cast iron griddle across two burners and getting the heat right for pancakes; 3) It is an absolute bear to clean because food drops into the recessed well for the burners and you have to take all the grids off to clean. In retrospect, I would have considered a glass top closed burner system more. However, I am VERY happy with the way it cooks and I don't regret the purchase. I needed it and It was the first time I've ever purchased a stove top. Lastly, it was well worth it to buy the most powerful range hood I could afford because it makes a huge difference in venting steam and smoke from what is a much more powerful stove than I had.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it but it could be better... I chose this style because my thought was I was getting more cooking space versus the other styles where the knobs with on the right hand side and you only got four burners. I like that this one had a super boil in the middle, however after using it I found that there still isn't enough room. If you are boiling pasta in the middle and have a large skillet with sauce simmering, you barely have enough room. Next time I would choose one with knobs down out front or remodel the whole kitchen and go for 36 inch range instead. I love to cook so this is important to me. Also the simmers have to be watched carefully, they are still too high, even after we had it adjust a few times, the lowest temp simmer will sometimes burn or boil, so be careful. East to clean, be careful not to scratch metal with souring pad like I did, I was being extra clean and scrubbed too hard. I still do prefer this model versus a four burner though, and if you do pancakes on a double griddle, I have to turn it diagonal to fit, but it works.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs some tweaks The biggest frustration with this cooktop is that it cooks on a very high heat. Even on the smallest burner it is impossible to simmer any size pot. Forget about leaving something on the stove to simmer for an hour or two - you will ruin the food and the pot! We love the 5-burner option but they leave little room for hands or handles if you have pots and or skillets on all 5 burners (or two outside burners plus the middle). The grates are easy (but heavy) to clean. A hinge on the back would make cleaning much easier.
