Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointing We replaced our old Jenn Air down draft with this new cooktop. It looked beautiful in the kitchen. However, one of the knobs had to be replaced within a week of installation. The heating elements on the large burners are very uneven, with medium setting being very high heat. It is impossible to clean-even for water that has boiled or splashed over. I have tried every cleaning product available for this type of cooktop, even home remedies such as baking soda and hot towels. Nothing removes the food stains/debris except scraping very carefully with razor blades, which leaves tiny scratches. I would never recommend this product. I spend hours trying to get it clean, and once it is clean I dread cooking again for fear of something spilling or splashing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cooktop Cleaning Issue We bought this cooktop 3 months ago and I love the way it heats up so fast but the clean up is an issue with me. If anything spills on the cooktop when cooking and needs to be cleaned up it takes me 20 minutes to clean it up after the burner cools down. I am using the cleaning product that was supplied with the cooktop. Even using that cleaner doesn't get all the residue off. Totally disappointed with this cooktop due to the clean up issue. I would rather have a cooktop with the coils agains. May have to get a gasline installed and purchase a gas supplied cooktop. To bad we spent so much money on this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as described but... I would only recommend this cooktop in a situation where a builtin downdraft is required. Unfortunately it vents to the outside and allows outside air to come back into the house through the downdraft. So cold air comes through in the winter and hot air in the summer. Not good on heating and cooling bills! The fan is also fairly noisy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst cooktop ever recent kitchen remodel. replaced all appliances with the Kitchen Aid Architect series - not cheap. Love the oven/microwave convection combo. Love the fridge with platinum interior. Halfway love the three tier dishwasher except it won't fit my Tervis tumblers on top and plates on bottom during the same wash. But the worst part is this downdraft cooktop. Used it one time to fry bacon and it is pitted with tiny cloudy dots. I have used the cleaner provided and followed directions but it will not erase the pits or clean up nicely. If I could do it again, I would go back to coils. I do NOT recommend this to anyone. If I could, I would pull it out and replace with coils. Nowhere in the instruction booklet provided did it recommend cookware. I looked on the internet and used my Calphalon (as suggested) for the ONE TIME I cooked on it. I'm going to research and find different cookware that might work better. DO NOT BUY THIS COOKTOP!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product Easy to Use Love the cook top, just wish it had lights at each element so you knew which one was hot. Other than that, it works really well and is easy to keep clean and looks sleek and nice in our island. Only one problem with an element that burnt out in two months, not sure why. But Kitchen Aid had repaid done in a week and was very happy with the results. I would recommend this item for any kitchen, but if you have kids that cook, just be aware that it is glass and can break and they need to be careful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ceramic downdraft cooktop I have had this cooktop since April 2014. I hate the burner temp controls. The high and the low are on different sides of the controls. The dual burners have high on the left side and the single burners above it have the high on the right side. I have burnt many things and have under cooked others. i am still trying to adjust to this. i have wasted lots of food this way. Finally the upper right dual burner had to be replaced about a month ago; as it quit working. Then 2 wks ago it stopped functioning again. I stress out and yell at my cooktop whenever I have to use it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problems with fan and burner after one year It is hard to find a down draft venting cook top so we were thrilled to find this one. However, after one year of normal use, one speed of the 3 speed vent stopped working. Then, in the second year of normal use, one of the dual burners stopped working. Doesn't anyone have pride in their quality of products anymore?
