KitchenAid 9-Cup Food Processor is rated 4.5904 out of 5 by 166.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Innovative design features compared to older models and lighter weight without sacrificing power. I have owned a KitchenAid food processor for almost 20 years. I purchased the 9-cup model recently for my new winter home. I love the new feed tube which allows for more flexibility and control when grating or slicing. There are also more grating and slicing size options than earlier models; and the mini bowl is often just right for the job at hand. The processor is as powerful as my older model, but much lighter in weight. I can store it in an overhead cupboard without effort. The biggest drawback I have found is that a lot of food can get caught in the lid inside the rim. This is especially a problem when grating cheeses or soft vegetables.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but the plastic will break is you drop the many parts The precision slicer is great. The regular part that is an overall chopper does not blend, but does chop well. The plastic is very breakable. I already had to replace the small cylinder tube, which cost me $10 + shipping. It should either be a pyrex type of work bowl that you can put in the dishwasher, or just more sturdy. The work bowl can only be washed by hand. These are the down sides. It does chop and slice very well, so I make salads very quickly and dressings. You still need a blender for smoothies, as it does not blend well at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like it, but........ I like the look of the product. The buttons are a little hard to push. It does work well, but food gets stuck in the lip of the lid, and it is hard to get out. I was really excited to grate cheese with it, and I will not be using it for that ever again. The cheese gets stuck in the lip of the lid, and the only way I can get it out is by cleaning it with my pinkie finger. Other food also gets stuck inside the lid, and there is no way to clean it out. It's very annoying. I do like the different size bowls and it does chop things well. I like using the dough blade and making biscuits and pie crusts. It's also annoying that the whole insert needs to be in or it won't turn on. You need to cut the food quite small to be able to make it work, and that just means more prep work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So glad I bought this model!! I had planned to get another food processor, but it wasn't available, so I bought this one. I didn't notice unti I got home with it that it had a smaller, insertable workbowl that fit down into the larger bowl. It's used for smalled amounts and comes with a corresponding blade that fits it. What an ingenious idea!! I was also surprised by the adjustable slicing blade that allows me to slice at any thickness I want to without having to buy another blade!! What a great feature! It's easy to clean, either by popping the parts into the dishwasher or washing them by hand. So glad I bought it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of features and accessories. I have had the small KitchenAid food processor for several years and love it, but really needed a larger one. The new food processor has 2 bowls and many accessories. I call it my Killer food processor as it is extremely fast and does a fabulous job with little effort. I also have an old KitchenAid mixer which was given to me by a friend who had an appliance and repair store. When the person who brought it in for service did not want to pay to fix it, he and my son (who worked there) fixed it and gave it to me. I have had it at least 30 years and I have always called it my Killer mixer -- no comparison with the Sunbeam!! I am hooked on KitchenAid appliances.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect pastry in 4 minutes! I am a gourmet (home) chef and use these products every day! Great performance and speed is consistent. I have tried every attachment and all are consistently excellent in it/s processing of each task. Beautiful style and solid base. One of my must haves on my counter, along with it's "big sister", my KitchenAid Stand Mixer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I have been waiting a long time to purchase a food processor, and I am so happy I choose a Kitchen Aid. We have a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer that is over 30 years old and works as great as the first time we used it. The ease of use on this processor is great. And all the features are why we purchased this food processor. I love it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product is poorly designed. KitchenAid is a reputable company that I respect, you just need to do a bit more R&D on this product. This product is poorly designed.I make specific reference to the 3-piece pusher. The small and medium pusher are long and narrow, making cleaning of the inside base impossible. A dishcloth will not reach the base of the narrow tubes. They are also totally not required, since simply having the large pusher does the job with less clean up issues. The large pusher is terribly designed, making it impossible for a good wash. The side that lays flat has too many vertical grooves that are totaly pointless other than to aggravate when it is time to wash the unit. A dishcloth will not fit into these narrow vertical compartments. I have to use my fingers and still, I can`t reach the areas where the compartments narrow down at the base. Also, the plastic bowl is quite scratched and seems of really poor quality. I don`t use the processor often (maybe 1 time per week), yet the bowl seems very used and old. Really not what I expected. You really need to go back to the drawing board and I suggest you take a 2nd look at the Instructions manual. It took me a while to figure out why the processor would not work, turns out the feed tube needed to be aligned to the bowl in a particular way. The instructions do not mention this at all, you need to figure it out by looking at the images. Overall this product does its job at being a food processor, but it is not practicle at all nor is the quality of the plastic bowl to par.
