The product looks good.I purchased this thermal coffee maker October 2013. 1. to have hot coffee for longer periods of time; works thus far. 2. not having to leave on hot plate. 3. Looks; matches kitchen theme. However, I had know idea that I would be cleaning up coffee spills/leaks, etc. every other day. It's like the coffee misses the hole in the lid of carafe; losing about 1/4-1/2 cup coffee each time. cannot fill water reservoir above 9-10 cup mark; that's when it seems to leak more. also lose 1/2 cup or so b/c all the coffee does not pour out unless you remove lid and hold upside down; this thermal carafe is heavy. I'm very disappointed to say the least.

Worst Coffee Pot Ever!!! it went out with the gargage this morning.I have never had a coffee pot perform so poorly. The coffee was great - when it made it in the pot. I have been struggling with this pot for a few months now, thinking I was doing something wrong. It is a coffee pot - not rocket science.
I am so tired of cleaning coffee off the counter top. If you do not put the carafe in exactly the right position - with handle all the way to the right, it leaks. Other times it overfill the basket and ours along the outside of the carafe. If you don't pour the first cup over the sink, that spills too. The coffee sits in the lid of the carafe. it is an epic fail on the part of Kitchenaid. I have never been so disappointed in a product.

Nice productWe drink lots of coffee so we wanted a good pot and did research to see what would work best for us. One must was a thermal carafe so we settled on this one. I like the quietness of the perking of the coffee. We like the carafe but it is heavier than we would like. I have some arthritis and have a bit of trouble lifting it. It does keep the coffee warm but not as ho as I prefer. It is easy to fill and have ready so that anytime we want coffee we just put the pot back and hit the button. We did have a problem with the first pot we purchased but when I contacted the company they didn't hesitate and sent us a new pot, a label to return to problem pot and left me being a very happy customer.

Very DisappointedI found using this coffee maker very frustrating and cumbersome. The stainless carafe cannot be filled from my refridgerator's filtered water spigot nor can the removeable water tank. This means I have to fill the water tank with a separate pitcher. The lid of the carafe is difficult to remove/attach and when trying to pour coffee, only a trickle streams out. The inner rim of the carafe is about an inch wide and doesn't allow me to pour out the last 1/4 cup of coffee without removing the lid, turning the whole carafe upside down and shaking it. Obviously, this cannot be done over the cup, it has to be done over the sink.
I also think the menu is more than it has to be.....keep it simple, KitchenAid!
I prefer my $39.99 Black & Decker coffeemaker!

It looks goodWe really loved the look and the name KitchenAid of this appliance but the thing leaks because the carafe lid sometimes does not let the coffee flow through and instead goes all over the counter. About 8 out of 10 times this will happen. My wife places the coffee maker next to the sink for ease of clean up. If I was making the coffee every morning, I would have thrown it out by now.

Pretty & ReliableClean machine, not gimmicky. Simple & easy to use. Carafe is comfortable to hold. Beeping and clock display are very subdued, so there is no heavy insistence in the kitchen from more technology. Fits under my small countertop, and brews hot. Light, but looks and feels substantial. Only downside is the measure markings for water reservoir on printed on a smoky poly tank…just dark enough that you are not staring at another set of numbers in the kitchen (background design styling is appreciated!), but just dark enough that it is tough to see the level of the water. I have learned to get over it, but I could see where that would be a nitpick.

Great coffee makerWe are happy to have a 12 cup coffee maker that has a thermal carafe. The coffee is still hot 6 hours after it's brewed! The only hang up is the leaking of the coffee as it is brewing occasionally. We discovered if you don't fill the water dispenser all the way to the 12 cup line, it is fine. We are happy with this product.

Nice appearance, horrendous designAdd me to the list. It looks nice, but I'm surprised at the desperately flawed design and lack of usability. Have to pull it ALL THE WAY out to the edge of the counter to access the reservoir. The filter assembly won't open or close with the carafe in place. It takes multiple steps to turn the timer on. Finally, the carafe is constructed such that the user cannot pour the water or coffee out unless he/she turns the whole thing upside down. Kitchen Aid is usually a terrific company and they've been making countertop coffeemakers for years -- it's astonishing to me that they could get this one so very, very wrong. What a disappointment.
