Rated 4 out of 5 by from There's a lot of good things about this blender. We use this blender strickly for protien shakes. My girlfriend and I both work out and afterwards, come home and energize our body with protien shakes. The two things we would love to see improved are; (1) a tighter fitting lid. Mayber one that could lock down, and (2) we notice that it moves all over the counter from the vibrations unless we're holding the ccontainer down with one hand. It would be great if we could push one of the speed selections and not think about the lid coming off or the blender vibrating off of our counter. For us, those are two places that we would like to challenge you to improve. Other then that, we use it every single day and we're quite happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simples, easy to clean I tried 3 other Kitchen Aide blender before I found this one. The Vortex style was very nice, just too tall for me. I'm short and having to reach eye level to add ingredients was not convenient. Then I tried 2 others that did not have the pitcher that clicked onto the base. I returned both because the pitcher rattled so bad during processing that I had to hold my hand on it the whole time or it moved itself around the counter. Finally I found the one I have now. The size is perfect and the pitcher clicks on and off the base gently enough with one hand that it makes preparing food easy. Overall I am happy but almost gave up on a well-recommended Kitchen Aide due to the above mentioned comments. However, I do wish it had words in place of numbers on the speed buttons, like the other models do.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plastic pitcher is the downfall I've had my blender for about two years now and it has worked very well up until recently. The plastic above and below the handle has slowly cracked and will leak anytime I blend liquids. When blending liquids the top leaks as well when you first turn it on... enough that it will spray on you if you dont put a towel over it. I am a little disappointed as KitchenAid has always been pretty good to me. I'm hoping that they make a glass replacement pitcher.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be better My husband bought it as a gift (without asking), but seemed to think the reviews were favorable. Perhaps compared to other blenders of similar price it's good, but I don't know. I immediately checked America's Test Kitchen's blender reviews and found this blender smack at the bottom of their "not recommended" list. That was discouraging. So far it works ok, but not as well as I would like for a blender that cost over $100. It's quite loud; it starts up really suddenly, splashing ingredients up onto the lid; it requires stopping and pushing ingredients down to get everything to blend. More cons than pros, for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broke, got another new one. When I got it I didn't use it right away, two months after I used it for the first time, I was mixing chocolate chips bits, so I did not see the problem. The second time I was doing the same recipe and the chocolate chips were not in yet, lots of black pieces in the eggs and sugar, took pictures, called the company. To my surprise there were no fuss, they sent me a new blender, but, something is loose in the motor (I think it's a screw) but blender works normally . This one is good after 3 times of the same recipe. A happy customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well thought out product Compared to similar blenders this one stood out. Solid built, like the locking feature of the plastic juice holder - it doesn't bounce around when your blending as all others do, like the ribbed bottom of the motor housing on the right and left side for easy carrying, the five variable speeds is convenient. Its very easy to take apart and clean.I mostly love this blender but the only failing mark I give it is the plastic top. The clear plastic insert doesn't stay in place because of the flimsy design of the plastic top. I still give your blender a 5 star rating because it is the best in the market at its price point and it has a very user friendly design including the easy to grip handle. NICE JOB!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not happy We aren't happy with the KitchenAid 5 speed blender. The KitchenAid is so loud and spatters the ingredients all over the container. It's very difficult to get all the ingredients out, so much of it goes to waste. When I try to add a small stream of oil through the hole in the lid (when making salad dressing, for example), so much spatters outside, that it makes a mess all over the counter - and that's at the lowest speed. We had an Oster for about 30 years, and I can honestly say I was much happier with it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loosens and leaks I bought this for daily use by two teenagers and it worked well for about 6 months. Then the nut at the base of the pitcher began loosening with each use making for a messy clean-up. I tried using removable thread locker, which solved the loosening problem, but not the leaks. It seems to be oozing out of the bushing during use. I would not buy this one had I known.
