Rated 4 out of 5 by from This blender is a beast! I have had this blender for who knows how long...12+ yrs maybe?! It has taken a real beating and I use it almost every single day. I have made sauces, smoothies, soups and even ice cream (not on purpose). My only gripe is that over the years liquids have begun leaking through the base of the jar. Only a small amount leaks through and it just requires a quick cleanup after. It may not work quite like a Vitamix or Blendtec (can't say for sure...never tried one of those), but it works great for the price!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pitcher needs Real improvement I had this blender for awhile but right from the start the pitcher was always leaking a little. I could live with it. Not only that, the mechanism that allows the blades to run and that connects to the base is Completely gone! No more groves, just plain smooth and I can no longer use the blender! Now, I have to purchase a new pitcher to replace the old one. I really hope it will be the last one before the motor gives in. Would I recommend this product to a friend? I would say no, I would not recommend this product to a friend because of the defect I am facing if not I would have say yes but still with reservations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good & Bad The base and the motor seems well made. The ice crushing is a great feature. The blender also has a handy pulse mode. The shortcomings are coming in the design of the pitcher. After a minimal use, the pitcher has developed cracks at the junction of the handle and the jar. These cracks now leak whatever liquids are being blended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from AVOID! Buy a Vita Mix I am a Chef who bought this for my house. I have been cooking 30 years and always loved Kitchen Aid products, I have a stand mixer older than me. I spent the extra money and am disappointed. I used the mixer two times before the cheap plastic pitcher broke and replacement parts are half the cost of the blender. Kitchen aid used to be the standard bearer. Sad to see they have decided that low quality is the new path. Hopefully their management will change and get back to being the leader!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from jar no good Sattisfied with performance, but the jar in plastic is no good. looks very worn after short time and starts to leak a bit when used on high settting.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pithcer is a Bummer I bought this blender about two years ago. The motor is great, but the blade broke after the first year of use (we really never used it that much, as to say that the blade should brake) . Bought a replacement one which worked again for another year or so and started leaking at the bottom! I used to have a different opinion on kitchen aid products, now I´m not sure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can't decide ! The motor is very strong and well made.I like all features and settings. Very fine and smooth result no matter what kind of ingredients you want to blend. Jar is the minus point. Within short time like a year, the blade of the pitcher loosen and started to licking. Now it is totally unusable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad pitcher After only having the blender maybe a year the picture leaks at the base. The replacement is half the original cost of the blender itself!
