The Most used item in my kitchen!Wow. All the tedious chopping/mixing tasks - EASY! I use the chopper the most, onions, peppers, any vegetable really (pay attention to directions)- are chopped in SECONDS and ready to use. The multiple blender attachments to puree soup in the pan, or froth egg whites, or mix pancake batter- EASY! I use this tool almost every day. It cuts down prep time by more than half and cleans up and puts away easy in it's case. I LOVE this tool and have made salsa, sauces, dips, smoothies, mixed batter, chopped veggies to go in the frying pan- It is VERY versatile. I keep the diagram sheet that states which blender tool is best for what type of food- right inside the case for quick reference on which attachment to use. So handy- easy to use and you will use it. Almost everyday!

Lots of potential, but.....I was very excited to get this appliance. It can do so many different things, eliminating several storage stealing appliances from the cabinet. I would give this a 5 star rating, but there are 2 things I find very difficult with this product. First, It is virtually impossible to turn the dial to change the speeds. Even my husband, who works construction finds it very hard to turn. Second, I do not like that I have to keep pressure on the bottom to operate the unit. I wish it had an on/off switch with the option to pulse. My thumb gets very sore when trying to blend things with this and having to keep the pressure on the bottom to make it operate.

Powerful, full featured and easy to use.I have used this immersion blender to make salad dressing, apple butter and small amounts of pesto. It is very powerful, easy to assemble, use, clean and the dealer told me it had direct line drive gears not offset gears. I am also glad that listened to his advice and purchased the 5 speed unit to gain all of the attachments. This is so much better than a full sized food processer for smaller amounts and easier to clean. I have been looking for a year and finally purchased this from a full kitchen store after talking to the dealer who also teaches some cooking classes.

An Excellent Design with few faultsThe only problem I have found with the entire design is that when the small canister is run through the dish washer, the lid has a tendency to trap water that requires it to be separately air dried prior to storage. Everything else works perfectly with simplicity and ease. This product is well worth the expense. I have "burned" my way through three "less expensive" hand blenders before finding this professional piece of equipment and had I found this one prior to buying the previous three disappointments would have saved at least 35% of the cost.

Great ToolI am very happy made this purchase. I bought this hand blender because my wife and I are expecting our 5th baby. We make all of the baby's first foods at home instead of using jar foods. I ran this through a test run and was very happy with the puree consistency. I was looking into the baby bullet and other similar items and noticed this was much more versatile. I do a lot of baking and such for my kids school parties and such and this has been great so far. If there were any complain at all it would be the whisking speed. While trying to whisk egg whites for royal icing it goes a bit too fast causing a splash mess. Overall I'm very happy though. Oh and the storage case is a great feature!

Great, but could use design improvementsProduct functions great, but the switch is difficult to turn on and keep the product running, especially if the user has grip problems or arthritis in the hand. I also don't now how it has five speeds since there is no speed indicator on the unit. I am assuming the variations in speed are dependent on the attachment used, but there is no explanation of this.

Makes the smoothest soups!I purchased this product primarily to create smoother pea and bean soups and it far exceeds my expectations. The reason for the Kitchen Aid was the fact that a longer wand was available. I make large amounts of soup and freeze what I don't immediately use and the longer wand lets me blend the soups in one batch.
The unit works great and the storage case makes it easy to keep parts together (except for the optional longer wand). The plastic piece which keeps the blades from harming non-stick surfaces is great!
I would certainly recommend this product to anyone needing and immersion blender.

Difficult to keep cleanI've owned this blender for over 2 years and use it virtually every morning to make my protein drink. I also use it for general cooking, etc., maybe once a week. Although I thoroughly rinse the blade section daily and wipe dry, it has begun to have a really rank odor. I discovered that the blending arm is now sucking liquid up into it and it reaches the bottom of the motor body and collects there. Yuck. Not sure what to do, but I will contact Kitchen Aid about this issue. I'm not expecting much since the product is over 2 years old. Otherwise, it's been a decent hand blender. Very disappointed.
