Rated 1 out of 5 by from Global failure at 3 years, 2 mos old! Bought this in summer of 2014. Worked fine - no problems until everything went at once in October 2017. Said power outage and stopped cooling. Called Kitchenaid for recommended service reps. First one came out and exclaimed that he was surprised we hadn't had problems before. Replaced fan, thermister and about 4 other parts. Worked for one day then was worse than before - still not cooling, no ice, now light doesn't work inside and beeps every few minutes. Another rep came out from same place, replaced the same parts again (seems like that is all they are trained to do - they don't actually diagnose anything). Worked for 2 days and now back to not working. It's been several weeks since first repair call and still not working. Talked to another repairman and he advised to get a new fridge. ONLY THREE YEARS OLD and it is headed for the garbage dump! Will never buy Kitchenaid again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from More zproblemd Bought this refrigerator as part of a packet with other KitchenAid appliances. We purchased it in April of 2013. Since then the ice maker has been repaired 4 times including the last time which did not correct the problem. When the service man came back out he said it was a problem with the fan from the freezer compartment. We were gone for a week and when we returned we noticed an odor in the refrigerator and then checked and found everything in the freezer had thought out while we were gone. The next day we noticed that the refrigerator wasn't cooling adequately either. We called our service contract who came out looked at it and then said it must be a problem with the sealed system and since it was under manufacturer's warranty they could not do anything with it. We are now waiting for a service technician from KitchenAid to look at the refrigerator. They are supposed to come out tomorrow which is the 30th of October hopefully we can finally get resolution and get our food back in the kitchen. We have been without the refrigerator fully functioning since September.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst refrigerator I ever owned! The refrigerator make a tremendous amount of noise. While you might expect to hear the fans occasionally, this is almost constant whirring that we can hear in the next room. I’ve been unsuccessful in getting a customer service representative to help me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking , spacious, problematic I do like the design of the fridge , I have had a few problems , such as ice maker replacement , evaporator replacement , condensor replacement , water reservoir .. other than these items the fridge is awesome

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Repair Prone Nightmare I purchased this refrigerator on May 28, 2014. It was first repaired within 14 months of purchase that cost approximately $260. Now I have a repair estimate of $825.00 plus. I will not put that money into this piece of junk. I will buy a new refrigerator--not Kitchenaid--and I will make sure to purchase the extended warranty. This model has been discontinued. I do have a Kitchenaid stove and dishwasher and they are great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't bother This is the worst fridge I have ever used. I am so completely disgusted by this product. 2 years after having it completly stopped working. I had to argue with Kitchenaid to fix it. They sent a repairman out. He told me that he "basically replaced everything but the shell and they would have been better off giving us a new fidge." "They (Kichenaid) knew they built a bad product." Two years later the ice machine has started leaking any now the freezer door won't shut because of the constant ice build up..... Thanks Kitchenaid. I had my last fridge for 10+ years this one has been 4... Guess what brand I will never ever ever recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A dog of a fridge Both this in 2013. Spent $2,400 based on reviews etc. Nothing but trouble. Four years later we need a new fridge.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst purchase ever! I bought this refrigerator in November 2013 after having my previous KitchenAid refrigerator for 25+ years. For the last four years we have spent thousands of dollars repairing the icemaker, the water dispenser, the fridge, the freezer drawer, and my wood for that it it leaked all over on two occasions. As a schoolteacher and mother of three I do not have thousands of dollars laying around to go purchase a new refrigerator and yet that's what I'm being forced to do. You can bet that I will not be buying another KitchenAid however!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constant problems. Poor design Built a brand new house and bought all my appliances at once. Went with kitchen aid for its good reputation for quality and reliability. So disappointed. Each appliance has one or more issues. But this review is about the refridgerator. Always has had an excessive amount of liquid collecting on inside ceiling. Initially thought excess condensation. Appliance repair guy said it was a known issue with ice maker. I asked if known issue = recall? Nope. Issue resurfaces, gets worse, realizes entire bottom of refridgerator covered in water. Water inlet leaks. Minor damage to hard wood floor. $400 repair. Minor complaints: ice maker jams a lot. Seems like a design flaw to store ice in the non-freezing refridgerator compartment. Also door latch system is a bad design. Kids/guest frequently leave door ajar because it doesn't close easily. Is there anything good? It keeps my food cold. That's a basic expectation. It looks fairly nice. Controls intuitive. But I didn't expect a $200 and a $400 repair on a 4 year old refridgerator. Don't even get me started on the Kitchen aid dishwasher I already replaced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Freezer needed to be repaired twice.... I like the features of this refrigerator, but the freezer was repaired twice under warantee and it broke again out of warranty. The entire cooling system of the freezer needs to be replaced, which we will not do. This will be the last Kitchenaid major appliance I ever buy.
