Grilled Strip Steaks with ChimiChurri

Ingredients

  • Makes 4 servings

  • Chimichurri (recipe follows)
  • 4 bone-in strip steaks, about 1 inch thick (8 ounces each)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare Chimichurri. Prepare grill for direct cooking; oil grid to prevent sticking. Sprinkle both sides of steaks with cumin, salt and pepper.
  2. 2. Grill steaks, covered, over medium-high heat 8 to 10 minutes for medium-rare or until desired doneness, turning once. Top with Chimichurri.

Chimichurri:

Makes about 1 cup

  • 1/2 cup packed fresh basil leaves,
  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil,
  • 1/4 cup packed fresh parsley leaves,
  • 2 tablespoons packed fresh cilantro leaves,
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice,
  • 1 clove garlic,
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt,
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel,
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander,
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1. Place all ingredients in pitcher of KitchenAid® Torrent™ Blender.
  • 2. Cover and blend on medium-high speed until pureed.
